This one is with 3 speed hub .. A line type brompton . I dont see why the 24t chainring have more torque, shouldn't it be 60t that need more torque force?

@@BIKEgang The torque that the cyclist exerts on the crankshaft is a given value. Then this torque is transmitted to the cassette via the chain. Since sprockets are usually smaller than chainrings, this torque (measured at the wheel hub) is reduced. Of course, a smaller chainring and a bigger sprocket will increase the torque on the rear wheel (that's actually the whole point of getting low gears). Every internal gear hub has a maximum input torque, beyond which it will fail, slip or have a torque fuse to open (rolhoff). This is why every IGH has a minimum/maximum sprocket/chainring specification. Unfortunately, I was not able to find this data for the Sturmey Archer BWR.

I installed that bar on my Chpt 3 and can tell you that whether it needs cutting will depend on a lot of factors. Grips make a big difference, of course. And the rack affects ground strike, as she mentioned. But also, you can play with the fore/aft tilt to give more space because the bar has a slight inward curve. Also, note that you might need to install new, longer cables, depending on which bar you’re replacing since you might be adding height. IMO, totally worth all the messing about…much nicer bar design. (I did not opt for the carbon version)

No need to relace BWR wheel. Chain pusher stock type mechanism can only work up to 3 speed not this 4 cogs too deep to push. You need new type Parallelogram Derailleur. Stock or 3rd party ones

No need to mod frame .. it is designed for the free hub body of 2 speed hub or BWR hub (6 speed brompton hub)

Cool, personlly I just have the 5 speed cogs without BWR gear hub. 5 speed 25t is pretty good enough for my style of riding, 95% terrains covered.

MTB can take 3 chainrings mostly .. you really dont need this.

a nut on tensioner will touch the biggsst cog ... that need to address to solve the noise issue.

It depends on your current setup .. if it is P line you can use all individual parts and only add cogs to have 5 speed 22t max. but if yours is C Line older 2 speed. then the max compatible is X3 unibody cog set ... most parts can keep and only shifter need modification

If C Line 2 speed needs to be 4 speed , then 3rd party advanced derailleur system will requires. and of course X4 or X5 is needed.

@@mranonymous8815 X3+1 has a loose last cog, hence must only be used on wide free hub body (P/T line rear wheel) while X4 has all buit in one set .. so can be mounted on narrow free hub body (C Line older 2/6 speed type wheel)

For the weak legs very useful. I ride only external 5 cogs (X5 unibody cog set) on stock 2 speed wheelset modification. Good enough for most hills and the bike will be lighter to carry around
