Awesome video man! Btw, go to that cory yard spot more often. You can catch insanely fast eastbound trains, for example I caught A492 there 2-3 weeks ago and it was going 60+ mph

WOW - What a video you made here! I am amazed at the action you caught, and you inspired me to make the drive from Ohio to JB Tower. Incredible how close you got to the diamonds to film. Are they tolerant of railfans there? Where would I park and set up to film at JB? Thanks so much for your help!

I went (almost) GEVOless on CSX friday, besides the 3 ES40DCs I saw in the yard. A LOT of CW44ACs, A MAC Leader, A Slug-Mother set, 2 YN2s (One is A solo leader, I have yet to see A duo of YN2s), and SD40-2s in the Yard. I NEVER see SD40s that aren't SpongeBob Cabs Nowadays, It's A nice breath of fresh air in general. Here are some things on NS: An NS SD70ACC, leading A CP AC44, and A KCSM Grey ghost, SD70ACC trailers, SD70ACes, A Thoroughbred, LOTS of AC44C6Ms, D9-44CWs, and A few GEVOs as well, there was also an ex-N&W SD40-2 trailing 2nd on A Road Train (Could be A long local tho), So yeah. Plus, I caught A UP C45ACCTE with an SD70AH just sitting by themselves. The Slug was CSX 2370 (ex-B&O built from GP40, Stayed in Chessie Paint before becoming A road slug in 2008), and the Mother was CSX 6970 (ex-Conrail). Thursday was also cool, 3 high hood ex-N&W SD40-2s in their natural habitat, A Conrail Caboose #21300, A Bay Window Caboose likely used in CSAO operations in Michigan like where I saw it. There was also an Abundance of CN GEVOs like usual with them, but an SD60 leading A Coal Local, Also an ACe leader that day with C6M DPU, can't forget that H1 #1059 I also caught! 😄

@bub-e2592 I'll give you one of each. EMD probably the 4 SD70M-2s and a SD60 I saw in Battle Creek. Then for GE if have to say 2 citirails, a cn ge, and 2 more citirails on a potash train. There a lot that I think are great but there's too many to pick one

9:12 Another lashup that I would never see due to me seeing too many GEVOs, but that's okay cuz CN has little variety (sarcasm), for me atleast. 12:00 That's the exact same lashup I saw at Durand.

Yup, one day I caught A ex-CitiRail leading A GEVO Duo, then A 23xx GEVO leading an ex-CitiRail, with an 89xx SD70M-2 trailing 3rd with A 16 axle Flatcar I didn't photograph or even took video of, the next train was the lashup with 2 SD75Is sandwiching an SD70I as seen in your video, A 57xx SD75I leading an SD70M-2, HESR and GLC ops and later further south on NS, A CP run-through with A UP Rebuild trailing 2nd.@@downriverrailfan

I really want to railfan CN more, but I prefer to railfan CSX and NS due to their lines in both Michigan and especially Ohio to have more activity. Last time I went to Durand, just A GEVO leading an SD70M-2, and A GEVO duo, but hey the Shortlines were good including my first GLC GP35.@verrailfan

That is JB Tower where the CN (Ex-EJE) crosses the UP (Ex-CNW) cross. It is in West Chicago, Il and yes it is still operational. Was fortunate enough to witness a CN Train coming to a crawl and grab train orders from the tower operator just like they did back then. That train had one of the CN Veterans units and an Ex-citirail on it as well!

Great catches on the Chili! Having watched this video it seems BNSF tends to exclusively use C4 and DC GEVOs on the intermodals on this route. Most of the ES44AC's tend to work coal trains and other unit trains.

Yes Blue Island is a busy place for sure! I have never had a problem there amd always just kept to myself in terms of being alone. I'm not sure if I would go without a car though since there are no "park" to sit and relax. Also there is the safety aspect incase something happens and you need to leave quickly in a car. Just my opinion if you go it'll definatley be worth it because of all the traffic.
