We don’t cut their tails, that “brace” is only worn on show days - and is made to train the tail to be higher. Like you can train your hair, we train their tail, we don’t put any substances on their tails. Their tails aren’t cut. This is coming from a saddleseat rider with experience.
@Lauren-vd4qe3 жыл бұрын
@@chrishale1345 the tail does NOT need to b higher; the ligaments under the tail are cut, then the tailbrace is put on so the tail heals in a higher stance, regardless whether the tailbrace is put on the show date or not; been there but did not do that. It needs to STOP!

@@Lauren-vd4qe well bless your heart miss know it all...but that practice of " nicking " has not been done for YEARS it is outlawed by USET. So get educated and get a clue...how about you talk to AQHA about the cuts they do on Quarter Horses for the DEAD TAIL?

CH Sprinkles is absolutely beautiful, and I can tell that she is talented and her and her rider have a very strong bond, but horses were never made to move like that and this NEEDS TO STOP
@danamacpherson54817 жыл бұрын
AllyTheEquestrian. I'm sorry, but why is that? These horses are [usually] trained with care and patience. They are not tortured. Yes, they wear heavy shoes and some padding during show season. This are either replaced with regular keg shoes or the horse may go barefoot. Tails and manes are braided up most of the time - with switches so they can still get the flies. They get to go out and play in pasture, go for trail rides, just like 'other' horses! They are worked regularly in order to build the strength and stamina required for their performance. Rather like most horses used in competition are. Do you also believe that jumping, barrel racing, flat racing, reining, buggy driving, etc., etc., must be stopped? Do you have a problem with western pleasure horses having their tails nerved (NOT nicked mind you) so they can't move their tails at all? Hopefully THAT practice has stopped and I know that the soring of the big lick Walking Horses has been curtailed, the laws have changed and hopefully that practice will soon be unheard of. As for saddlebred's tails, and all the other breeds where high set, flowing tails are preferred, the procedure of ' nicking' the muscles used to clamp down the tail, is still in use, and I DO want THAT to go away. I much prefer a high set flowing tail that was set genetically! If you look at older pics of saddlebred show & harness horses, you will see that kind of natural tail carriage. The reason for nicking actually came about for harness horses who clamped their tails down when the crupper was being applied. More convenient for the farmer, but they can still swat flies... That's not done anymore, thank goodness! Sorry for going on & on, but I DO appreciate your concern!

The horse is in a happier place guys that horse was in pain ISNT THAT OBVIOUS?! That horse was abused to look like that like that tail and how it's hoofs and tail goes up like that
@danamacpherson54817 жыл бұрын
Those ARE natural gait! That horse does NOT appear to be in pain. She looks bright eyed happy, no pinning of the ears, no switching of the tail.... Someone in one of these comments (may have been a different video) made the statement "don't you know horses won't show pain?" Sorry, but that is WRONG. They will tell you if they're in pain, but you have to understand their communication. They will MOST DEFINITELY let you know if they are uncomfortable, unhappy, upset, anxious, etc. If a person does not learn to read these signs, they will not be on the horse for long!
