You are absolutely correct. That is why before they came out with these, i Purchased a food dehydrating machine. But now they are raising the prices on all of those because they know people are using them for their resin crafting projects and not so much for food. The one I bought has metal shelves u can take out and a door that opens like a door n it was so much cheaper back then.

Thanks for showing this. I was curious how everyone is doing tumblers with handles. Do you know how large the tabs are that stick out, or rather are they an issue with laser clearance if you did full wrap? I assumed the 4" was more to help with curve of the tumbler. I also apricate you including the part about your experience with support and their quick response.

One technique I have used for production runs is to have more than one piece in the machine. Even 2 cups in there would have cut the time down considerably. I did coasters in my K40 sized machine and did 6 every time. Really reduced the time I had to attend the machine.
@ChippedBuilds3 ай бұрын
I normally do more than one at a time for batch products but since these cups were $16 a piece I didn’t want to chance a mess up and have to buy more.

@@ChippedBuilds why not design a jig that puts them all in at a known location and you can fit a dozen in at a time.

@@Titan3DAZ I definitely could have but that brand of cups is hand made in Portugal so they are all slightly different plus I would have to Prop them all up so they were level.

Very cool! I was considering engraving some silicone bracelets (or possibly metal bands for the bracelet)for a non-profit. It's an ongoing project but rather low-volume. So, it's impossible to justify a $5k machine. Could Glowforge Spark handle that or is there another brand possibly. I suppose you get what you pay for so low cost may work but I'd sacrifice time (much slower) and detail??
@ChippedBuilds3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure if it would work or not. You would have to contact glowforge or check the specs on it. I would think it should though or a similar xtool machine

that came out great! I cant wait to do my first cup, thank you for showing us what to look out for. question, can using too much power make a bad engrave?? like if it will work fine at 70, but run it at 90, will it look any different?
@ChippedBuilds3 ай бұрын
I’ve seen some people where there was too much power and the engrave went into the stainless steel a bit so they couldn’t get it to clean up nicely. If possible get a sacrificial cup like from the thrift store or something to dial in settings
