How do you get the audio to come through the speakers? CarPlay connects immediately. But I have no sound. Also connected via usb and still no sound. The Original radio works fine however.

Hi, connect your phone via bluetooth to the IRIS, then on IRIS menu, select from media -> bluetooth. It is entirely independent from the carplay module. This video was shot before we used bluetooth, however quality in the way I explained just now is actually higher.

We only use IGBT, these alternators are subject to high currents and temperatures. Even the aftermarket IGBTs we use, which are quite good, will last about 10-20k km in average after repair.

What's the probability that my oem stereo system or screen become damage thru time? What's the warranty on these upgrade?
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
Hi, warranty on the kit itself is 1 year. About possibility to damage your original parts while using it, it is zero. The kit only takes power from the battery and communicates with the original car systems, and being entirely plug and play, if you meet any strange behavior your can uninstall it easily to double check any issue right away. The only part where you can do some damage to your car is when you install/uninstall it since you need to remove covers and cables, but it isn't really complicated. Please keep in mind Ferrari 458 may have the head unit used on 488, usually this is on the Speciale. Best way to know is to check whether your car suppots bluetooth for calls only (458 head unit) or for media as well (488 head unit). The carplay kit must match the head unit, therefore this is very important check to do before purchasing.

Does all the CarPlay audio go through the headphone jack "in the glovebox" or does CarPlay audio (music, NAV guidance) get routed digitally into the head unit and played through there? Do you have to hook up that 3.5mm jack?
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
Hi, audio goes via bluetooth to IRIS. The earlier install of our carplay module couldn't figure out the microphone part, so we had to nstall an aftermarket microphone on the 3.5mm jack. However, since that moment we made an update and we directly use the car microphone connected to the phone via bluetooth - meaning our carplay module is no longer involved with audio on McLaren, as the phone can handle it just fine. Quality wise, we found out the compression made by the carplay module and the amount of different switching between physical and communication layers ended up with a comparable, if not worse quality over wire than over bluetooth.
@aplanedividedtheskyАй бұрын
Great job guys! Finally a solution for the 720s. One question though. If I understand correctly, the audio is fed from the phone to the Iris headunit via Bluetooth, which is then sent via MOST output to the amplifier. If that is the case, then source audio suffers compression due to the Bluetooth communication, resulting in lower quality audio. Under that assumption, did you guys considered having your unit connected to the MOST bus, so that the audio produced by it (i.e. essentially CarPlay) is output directly and without compression? In the Porsche world, there was a unit called Mr12Volt that was doing that. I ask because the B&W soundsystem in the 720S is quite high quality, and it'd be cool to be able to enjoy it using uncompressed audio.
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
Hi, what you mentioned is very correct. Unfortunately our team is not specialized in the audio part. Currently if we connect via wire through our system, the quality gets compressed as well, to the point bluetooth is actually a preferable option (no change or gets even worse via wire). Too much stuff in the middle. We decided against providing highest quality of audio to reduce development time and make installation easier, both of which directly impact pricing and value of the product. Figuring out the direct connection to the MOST bus in terms of development time/effort is currently not an option for us. But if we end up being able to do it, we'll certainly think about a plug-in option or an independent solution based on our experience with the carplay/android auto module!

Thanks for you and i have same issue for flooded G12 and i am planning to do same and clone of it so please for G12 it will work or only the old models !! And any other IC Chip ?!
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
Hi, as long as the module is a BDC2, it will be the same logic. If BDC3, it's not that different, just the chip models are different, but the layout is pretty close. Only the chip shown in the video are required, others do not matter for the process. Just make sure your two hardware are the same part number (or at least both are V01, for example, if your original car BDC is V01)

How is that even possible
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
Couple of years ago there were already a few models of common ECUs which were made aftermarket by some Chinese factories. We thought of doing the same on a couple of Ferrari/Lambo ourselves! Since most of the components are new, they are lasting longer than most used ECUs which already are at least 10 years old... so some of the internal components are already deteriorating.
@shaazyАй бұрын
@@mysupercarexpert thats brilliant on many levels cause ECU algorithm data must have had to be duplicated from existing ECUs! Are there replacements for the 599 GTB available?
@mysupercarexpertАй бұрын
@@shaazy Data has been possible to read (and copy) for a long time now (about 15 years at least), however reliably reproducing the hardware was not as easy! Many components are out of production. For the 599, we only have original used ECUs at 550 USD. Of course you will need a programmer to copy data from your ECU and write them into the used ECU to make it work, or directly swap the memories from one to the other!

Well Done! Very Good Video I am from Canada, I have a 2007 Mercedes ML 320 CDI, I broke its TCU (722.9 VGS2-NAG2, only conductor plate A0335457332)) while replacing a sensor couple of months ago, so I bought the remanufactured TCU from China (including programming service). After I installed, I started the vehicle but I got the code U0101 (TCU Lost communication). I am not sure if the seller has programmed it or not (he did ask me the VIN/Chassis number of my vehicle) or the TCU itself is bad? Now I don't know what to do? Can I unlock & program this TCU as you have shown the procedure in the video? If yes then which kit or instruments I need to buy to fix this TCU? (I do have the original valve body intact and the the original TCU with me.) Thank you so much
@mysupercarexpert2 ай бұрын
Hi, is the TCU you received VGS3-NAG2 or VGS2-NAG2? The VGS2-NAG2 is very rare, so it is possible you got a VGS3. VGS3 can be used to replace a VGS2 but it must be adapted beforehand. Unlocking (erasing immo) the TCU requires a tool like CGMB, VVDI MB or AVDI, then you can repeat the procedure of programming it to the car. The original TCU is not needed as those are quite easy to adapt on car with Launch (or similar diagnostics) and cannot be cloned at all. That said, to address the communication error U0101, as long as car starts it is not something major, and if you can erase it first, you should drive it for a while and see if comes back again. It could entirely be an electric issue on the car (being a 2007 vehicle, it wouldn't be surprising) and nothing to do with the TCU itself. To confirm this hypothesis, check for similar communication errors on other control modules on the car - if problem comes from wiring or from battery, usually it won't be just one module reporting issues in communication...
@Realman00072 ай бұрын
@@mysupercarexpert Hello Dear, First of all thank you so much for your detailed reply, The TCU i received is VGS2-NAG2, I cannot drive the vehicle, though on the dash it is showing the shifts (Park, Neutral, Reverse and Drive) though but the car is not moving as gears are not engaging at all ,though the vehicle starts normal and also the radiator fan has started to run at its full speed too. Earlier with the original TCU installed the vehicle was moving at least in limp mode (I think in 2nd gear and reverse gear) and I was getting a code P2767 (one of the speed sensor B circuit) and while replacing that sensor I broke the TCU and any how the vehicle was still drive able in the limp mode. I really appreciate for the information you provided about the tools to unlocking & programming the used TCU, Can you let me know how much these tools cost? Thanks and again Best Regards
@mysupercarexpert2 ай бұрын
@@Realman0007 if is exactly VGS2-NAG2 then it should work fine, it is possible the TCU you got is faulty, but to make sure it's best to reconnect the older TCU to confirm the behavior is still the same as it used to be, as it could as be a wiring issue with the car. If that's the case, the older TCU should also have the U0101. For programming, Launch X431 series of products, or Autel Maxisys, or pretty much any diagnostic tool which does programming will do the job for you, no need for official Mercedes Xentry. Depending on tool and generation, it will be between 1000-2000 USD depending on coverage. Unlocking (or virgin) requires specialized tools like VVDI MB, CGMB, AVDI, etc. locksmiths working on Mercedes are sure to have at least one of these. Depending on tool price here will be starting at 550 USD depending on functionalities. For exact pricing you can contact our sales with more details of your needs besides this specific case, at [email protected]

I might just need to swap a relay on the board as the drivers side ( RHD ) passengers door doesn’t unlock, do you know which relay that would be?
@mysupercarexpert3 ай бұрын
Hi, unfortunately BDCs have lots of chips and it's hard to make a detailed repair, therefore we focused on swapping CPUs as a complete solution. There are 2 CPUs and 2 EEPROMs (next to the CPUs), one for the actual BDC, one for the ZGW. Provided the BDC version (e.g. V10) is the same, it will be enough for a perfect clone.
