Been digging this track for years but Dante Ross' book "Son of the City" brought me here. An epic read if you find the time.

That's right 👍🏾 early hip hop. I'm dead in the middle of America 🌎🇺🇸 and all these tracks hit in sequence with Brooklyn! If you could make it in Brooklyn you could make it anywhere!

When I look back and think back about this musically being the introduction to the tandem of Pete & CL, I have to chuckle. I loved this record so much that when the next single Mecca & the Soul Brother (not to be confused with the album) dropped, I wasn't ready to receive it because the dynamic just threw me off. I almost wasn't willing to give CL a chance just because he wasn't rapping on the first single. Glad I caught on because CL was an incredible rapper.

How this song gets passed on when coming up with an NBA 2K Soundtrack?! It’s got 2K vibes all over it!! 🔥🔥

I would have 2 say that PETE & CL are the greatest duo because they were ambidextrous (they both could flow and cut). I know ambidextrous means to be able to use both hands equally well. PETE & CL could both flow and cut equally well. That's why I used that word.
