I honestly enjoy this configuration more than being completely topless. I bought a strap from Amazon used for strapping down canoes etc to the roof and cut it shorter to hold down that back latch to the cross bar to prevent movement from the wind.

Wish there are videos about Ford’s tonneau cover. I ordered it when I ordered my Bronco thinking I needed it. I didn’t realize how hard it was to install/didn’t know there were going to be back straps over the swing gate… kinda regretting it. It just sits in the garage because I can’t get it on.

Quick question for u? I added a pressure switch and it seems to work! however the compressor comes back on every 30 seconds or so for maybe 1 second. Is this normal? Or am I losing pressure somewhere? I thought once it reached the desired psi and was not in use it would stay off until I turned it on
@theaxeman84927 ай бұрын
Definitely from a pressure loss. Mine seems to do the same. It did when not hard-wired to the vehicle as well (with the pressure switch). Doesn’t bother me much as I usually have it off at the compressor unless I’m using it. Can’t help you much more than that unfortunately. 🤷🏼♂️

Excellent ... as a new Bronco owner, I figured there had to be a simpler solution out there. Looks like one key to success is precise placement/parking of the Bronco -- in this instance, a tight fit in the garage actually works to your advantage.

Attempts show movement in rear section and only pushes down. It would be important to check if it lifts and I assure you it will. The questions are how much and how much can the top withstand before it breaks.

How water resistant is the tonneau cover?
@theaxeman849210 ай бұрын
It's quite decent. Water tends to pool up in the center - and I've had a good 3" deep pool - and never really had water in the trunk area. I've switched it out for a whole metal trunk enclosure for safety though.

Well- luckily it’s my Bronco and not yours - and you know what they say about opinions…. The back 3 connections are much more about creating a watertight seal than holding the roof on - but again - don’t do it. Nobody cares. You do you big guy. I haven’t had any issues since the install. The big “rub” was the clutch handle crushing the lower intercooler hose. Sorry for the late reply. We had a big ice storm up here and I was out of power for 5 days.

@timsizemore3098 Жыл бұрын
So, just to be clear with the remote- there is a toggle on the Badlands for wire/wireless option. If you leave the cable plugged into the unit all the time do you need to flip that toggle in order to go wireless? If not, which do I leave it on in order to not have to try reach down into the engine bay and flip it? Also, instead of even messing with the clutch lever what about just using the pay out direction and not putting it in free spin? Then there’s not something else that can break. Just saying. Not a dig on ya.
@theaxeman8492 Жыл бұрын
So what I do to avoid any problems is that I reach down and turn the switch of the winch on before I go wheeling. I still leave the up gutter switch off until the winch is needed. I don’t ever use the wired option unless my remote battery dies. As for the clutch - you can definitely winch out. It’s what I’ve been doing recently anyways. It’s just long if you have a lot of rope to pull. Good luck!

Fantastic video! this literally answered every question i had about this setup except 1... Apex fitment, , Check... Possible to extend the clutch lever, check... The only thing i wonder is if the Yankum Fairlead will fit the Rough country indent. i'd like to use that if possible and i think it'll protect the rope well and get rid of a hook that could possibly be marred up on approach angles given how low this is. Any insight? is it just the badlands fairlead that is oversized? or is the rough country the only one that will work.
@theaxeman8492 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! I unfortunately don’t have any insight on that Yankum fairlead- but I’d like to know also. It’s a cool setup. I left the Badlands fairlead on it and I’ve used the winch a few times without incident. Sorry I can’t be if more help!

Where did you buy the mount? Also can this compressor handle all 4 tires at once?
@theaxeman8492 Жыл бұрын
Hey. The mount was custom made by my friend unfortunately. But it is available from one of the companies (can’t recall which) for the ARB - which should work as well. The compressor handles 4 tires at once just fine - it’s what I do. Still takes a good 7-8 minutes to go from 14psi to 35psi. I do tend to open the hood during the process for heat dissipation.
@ADJSoundz Жыл бұрын

How long is the spacer adapter (1 x double female 1/4” NPT adapter) I like the pressure switch mounted here seems much better protected. Plus no stress on any of this once it together compared to being mounted in the back your always plugging and unplugging the hose. Nicely done.

They could but it would drive the price up. It's priced well as is. Thing is I honestly don't see a need for this mod. Hook line up to tire, hit switch, stop when at desired pressure.

The reason to do this you don't have to run back and forth turning the compressor off and on at eash tire... also never a good idea to use the pressure safety valve as a switch.
