I 1st heard this in 1982 when this came out from the OFFRAMP album ! What a great time of life ! Pat and Lyle were in their 20's when they composed and performed this ! Two of the coolest white guys on the planet ! Smooth Jazz Visionaries ! 🎉 ❤

I was a high school classmate of Pat's. We had a full hour for lunch, only half of which was spent in the cafeteria. During the other half hour Pat would sometimes play in the gym. Free concerts from the world's leading guitarist was a real benefit of attending Lee's Summit Senior High.

This song is so beautiful. The samba influence gives it such a hypnotic vibe. Absolutely love the synthed-harmonica melody/solo in the first section, and it almost sounds like Stevie Wonder is playing the harmonica on it. The song elicits some strong emotions - from melancholy and yearning, to breakthrough and release. Love it so much!

First time I heard this song? I was living in Springfield Illinois and this song was the intro to “Movies Til Dawn” on KMOX TV - St. Louis. A few weeks later I went out and got the vinyl LP. It was one of my soundtrack songs from law school in Chicago too!!!
