perfect analysis its ironic ive struggled with right side bend in the downswing ive started getting more chest rotation and less right side bend its got me exiting left better but its also been helping me hit nice draws in a world where i could hit a pull fade i would but my body just cant really get into those impact positions

Hey Shauheen, just wondering how one goes about signing up for a swing analysis by you. I tried looking online and through your website but don't see anywhere to sign up for this, I am only able to see other coaches listed and not yourself. Thanks.

The more you rotate your body, the more you’ll slow down the forearm roll (flip) through impact. I have a bunch of videos on how to do that on IG!

In theory, a lot of the backswing alignments are good, but the momentum of how it gets there is what penalizes him.
@marudebaka60417 күн бұрын
Complicated analysis. I agree that he gets the clubhead behind his hands too early on the backswing, but if I had to guess, i'd say his hip rotation is about right on target or maybe even more than some tour pros. The downswing starts with him trying to hit the ball using the power in his shoulders, so they open up way too soon. He could hit it great from that top of the backswing position if he felt like he kept his back towards the target for a fraction of a second, and if he tried to swing the club out to one o'clock. The whole downswing is steep and over the top. He needs to get the tension out of his shoulders and stop trying to overpower the ball with the shoulder muscles.

Just for clarification through all the different thoughts/feels in golf instruction. What would be the difference of the thought of pulling the hands to the trail pocket vs what he is currently doing? Is it just a matter of his hand depth?
@jakephelps476612 күн бұрын
That’s an interesting question. Like you seem to be alluding to, the more downward/less outward hand path matches more with less depth in backswing. To me, it looks this guy is also getting too narrow with the arm structure and wrist structure coming down which contributes to steepness. My perception of it is the hip pocket sortve feel is a combination of arms lowering, trail arm lengthening while wrist angles are more constant and not going into more extension like the example in this video contributing to the steeper shaft pitch
@NakhjavaniGolf12 күн бұрын
Big difference between having someone “feel” more hand speed downward if they need it, versus someone who accomplishes too much of it in reality. Any move can be overdone, no matter how good it’s considered to be. The thought you’re referring to is only useful in scenarios where the player’s chest is over active in transition and their hand path works outward too much, otherwise, not a great feel IMO long term.

Shift low point forward by bringing shaft plane down steeper, releasing later, or by moving body more laterally to target.

It doesn't look like he is rotating his chest in takeaway, which is why it looks like arns are outracing body in takeaway, leading to poor arm depth at top of backswing

I appreciate the detailed breakdown of this issue! Very interesting. Exactly what is still plaguing my swing after putting in a bunch of time to rework everything. It’s nice to know why this is the miss! I’ve also noticed it slowly getting better, so it’s very nice to know I shouldn’t search for any manipulative fixes and instead just stick with it and re learn how to release for the new club path. Because I do find when I tell myself to commit to the shot, with a complete and balanced finish, it’s the tight 2 yard draw. And it’s funny because I actually considered and messed around with a way stronger, more closed clubface grip.. so it’s nice to know i was right to not do that. I’ll just commit to the forearm rotation and gradually learn to trust the required release. Thankyou man!

I have worked on this relentlessly for WEEKS. I can't seem to stop being across the line in the back swing. I've hit hundred of balls trying to keep my elbow in and tweaking my wrist, legs, everything. If there's any way you would take a peek at a video of my swing it would be MUCH appreciated. I'm losing my mind trying to fix this.

No criticism at all, just wondering…is the low, inside takeaway okay? And is it even preferable for those of us who have that problem? Also, does the height of the stick matter and I’m assuming it ends over the top of the ball. Love your work and thank you!

another solution might work to some players: start the downswing with lowering the hands and "sitting down" a bit with the hips, than shooting the hips together with the hands.
