I get what you’re saying. Just nowhere else good to put them to keep from side casting on slopes. Well secured with good hoses & placement is best we could do to get enough capacity.

You gotta name that equipment its always a fun time. I enjoy watching the toms brook farm videos out of Australia, their quadtrac is named Bandit and their Mack firetruck is Fleetwood. Good times. They're moving to a JD bar next year, will be interesting to see how that goes.

Why to do call a grain cart a bank out?
@KaufmanFamilyFarms19 күн бұрын
Just the normal terminology in our area (inland PNW / Palouse Country).
@justinmartin539918 күн бұрын
I was wondering the same thing…had never heard that before. According to Google, they were called that because in the early 1900s they would haul grain to the bank of the river and auger onto a barge. 🤷♂️

All western farmers call grain carts bank outs which makes no sense lol

Can I ask,why don't you use a liquid cart either infront or behind your seeding rig,it's what we do in Australia.
@KaufmanFamilyFarms3 ай бұрын
Not sure I understand, but we find NH3 is the cheapest & least bulky nitrogen product, and the dry starter is usually cheaper than liquid.

Hello from France. About your crop rotation, Do you grow a crop only 1 year on 2 or every year?
@KaufmanFamilyFarms3 ай бұрын
Most of our ground is low enough rainfall, but deep enough soil that we have better success growing winter wheat on ground that has been fallow the year before.

Hello from Western Australia....🇭🇲😁 Awesome video...like how you go through all the technical operations of running the seed drill... I'm sure watchers are amazed at how much technology goes into farming nowadays... We're about a month away from starting our harvest season, we just finished cutting silage on our pivot fields... Stay safe and all the best for the coming 2025 season..🇭🇲💚🇺🇸....🌾

Thanks for letting me know what’s worked for you. We are fairly new to canola, so wanted to play it safe. Heard the hotter it is when you bin the more careful you need to be? It’s been 100 degrees at times.

On those long straight rows, why not unload on the go into the semi trailer instead of running back and forth with a tractor and grain cart to the combine and truck-? It would mean less augering of the grain resulting in less fines and less ground compaction from more truck wheels than less wheels on a tractor and cart. There are some other advantages as well.
@KaufmanFamilyFarms4 ай бұрын
On the long straight level areas, that would work well. However, we have quite a few areas the trucks can’t get to, so have to have the grain carts out there anyway, so we just use them the whole time. This keeps the combines running wherever they need to go. If we are short on trucks, then a full bankout (grain cart for the rest of the world) can be waiting at field entrance for the truck and get them loaded quickly & on road again. Always appreciate the thoughts as may be ways for us to improve.
@John-nc4bl4 ай бұрын
@@KaufmanFamilyFarms Thanks for your reply. If you went that way sometimes, unloading on the go into the trucks, it would help if the combines auger spout would follow the centerling of the truck thru a GPS signal. Syncing the ground speed of the combine could be tied in with the truck as well.
