Just as there are hundreds of ways to do the same thing in photoshop there are hundreds of youtubers showing us how to do stuff! Fortunately the algorithms have brought you to my attention. Yorkshire!

Great to see you review the OM Systems cameras and lenses and give a generally positive review. Having used Olympus and OM Systems kit now for over a decade and shot with lots of people who continually tell me you can't be a 'serious' photographer without a 'full frame' camera, this was a fun watch. Totally agree re megapixels re social media posting and if needed Topaz Gigaipixel to resize for big prints (I've done this with OM-1 files to over A0 size without a problem). A couple of things re using these cameras. As others noted the f/11 aperture really isn't needed for that wide-angle landscape image and as most of your subject is a fair distance away you could probably have got away with f/5.6. Also there is really no need for a tripod here as the IBIS in these things is way better than any full-frame camera. I can confidently handhold beyond 1 sec and still get very sharp images. Being free of a tripod also allows you to be much more experiential with compositions in the field rather than being tied to that one comp (usually a landscape orientation at eye height!). The handheld hi-res feature also produces stunning detail with the telephoto PRO lenses (50MP RAW file size if you need it).

you seem to have a good eye , for a photographer ,i.s. - bestest equipment , and what you come up with ??? instead of glorious water fighting , some re-re-re bleached bandages from WW1 .........or is it the Spanish Civil War ? hundred of thousands of poor sods grew and grow up with this stupid way of depicting water , allegedly to express themselves , being conditioned by " pro photographers " like yourdearself ; and if this is not 'nuff you ramble on and on and on ad nauseam , composition , composition ..........photography cannot have "composition " at best it has good or bad framing , or are you able to move the waterfall a wee bit to your left ? no ! you move your posterior to the right/left , in order to frame !!! nice pics in Iceland though sir ; ( I was tempted to say oaf , but it's sort of unbecoming ) an old painter , Art historian and former pro photographer .............

Thank you for the information, I learned something. However, I was wondering if it would be simpler to start with LrC, and then create a virtue copy. You can have different settings for each copy. You can then send the copies to PS as layers. Now you can mask out or in areas you want.

I'm a little slow watching your videos, but here is my comment anyway. Thank you for covering this subject (HDR). Back in 2008 I was right into HDR using Photomatix, you're right off course you can certainly create surreal images, and it was invariably over done. Being winter and living in Winnipeg, I spend my time editing my previous seasons photos, this year I'm back tracking and taking 2nd looks at decades old photo shoots. Yes, that means another look at my 2008 HDR photos, and am pleasantly surprised how with today's software how much better they look. It could have something to do with watching your instructional videos, and quite a bit less hair, not to mention it being more blonde (my wife says it grey). It has really been a great journey going through those old photos, but HDR wasn't all that bad with a little more restraint, and better algorithms.

Hey Gavin. And don’t just give me a love heart. I want a reply. Im interested in how you manage your Hasselblad files through your processing workflow. I’m not sure there’s enough idiots with Hasselblads to make it a worthwhile video but there’s at least one here that wants to know. Cheers 👍

I will actually add something non snarky now. I find all cameras with AA, anti aliasing need a little sharpening to compensate the filter. I had that filter removed on my astro/landscape camera.

Why would you need two layers and all that work in photoshop if you could do the exact same in Camera Raw or Lightroom on the raw file itself ??Just create a mask and brush in the adjustments(less white and less highlights) you want for those to bright parts.
@f64Academy
@f64Academy 13 күн бұрын
Maybe you're working in Photoshop and can't return to ACR or LR. Sure, this was a smart object, so you can always bounce back and forth, but what if you're 10 layers deep and need some help in the process? Now you have some tools to help you. There are a lot more ways to think about things than the way you think about things :) I'm sure if you went into this with an open mind, you might learn something new... or not, throw it away and move on :)

Why would you use LR when you can use PS?
@HoutmeyersP
@HoutmeyersP 11 күн бұрын
@@fototripperstudio Because in CR and LR i can work directly on the raw file......most adjustments that you need to edit your photo's are now available in both CR and LR.....I can use adjustment masks and delete any i want if i need to....i can go back to the original Raw if i want. Why would YOU need to work in PS if almost all edits can be made in CR or LR ? Why exactly do YOU prefer PS ? I only use PS to export/save my edited photo to another type file or on occasion to use a plugin from other editing programs ( Luminar, Nik)
