I will have to watch this film again. It is by leaps and bounds my favorite zombie movie ever. Spoilers follow. Go watch the film, it's epically great. I don't think some people not turning is a plot hole. The chemical trioxcin or whatever is what creates zombies, not the bite of zombies/zombie virus typically associated with zombies. The punk kids, cops, emts, and even mortician don't get exposed to the chemical in a full force like the two protagonists and therefore aren't turning. The virus poisons the protagonists to death, but because of how the virus turns the dead they come back nearly in tact zombies. This is also why tarman doesn't chow in them while they're out. They slowly rot, and as they do the zombie urges take over. The propagation of immortal world-ending zombies by human idiocy and human idiocy alone is very fitting for the film. The nukes that the govt drops after the number on the container is finally called are the reason the world is truly ruined by the zombie menace at the end of the movie. More dead and living will be exposed to the chemical and, being immortal, they will take over. This is the worst case scenario for the zombie virus, but only because humans are dumb, make mistakes, and an uncaring lazy government would rather hit an 'I win' button than hunt for an actual solution. Like NotLD, return has a profound message, and that message is strictly anti-government and pro-individual. The punks and warehouse workers and emts and mortician all work together and try to help each other, there is no infighting like other zombie movies. Nobody tries to rule over or kill anyone else or otherwise goes crazy. The zombie menace absolves them of all petty disagreements based on differences. There is hope in humanity, just not hope for humanity. A brilliant duality. And yeah, these are the reasons it's my favorite zombie movie. It's profoundly smart for being a movie where Linnea Quigley dances naked on a mausoleum.

I believe someone had supposed that people who's brains were eaten/damaged prior to "infection" did not turn. However this would make the skeleton zombie an odd inclusion, even though we don't see it but at the beginning of the infection and at the end of the movie. As far as Return of the Living Dead 2, I find it to be more geared towards comedy and less towards horror, especially seeing how they had a Jackson zombie at the end moonwalking while getting electrocuted. Anyways for only being a 7 minute review this was a great watch, and I'm glad that you didn't do a plot synopsis as folks who haven't seen the movie miss out when watching that type of review without going on to watch it themselves.

To me this is the scariest zombie movie of all time. One of the reasons is the zombies are practically unstoppable. Unlike the Romero zombies you cannot just shoot them in the head you have to chop them up in the tiny little bits. But even then they're still not dead dead. Of course the only safe people in this zombie universe are blonde people, since the zombies are after brains. 🤣
