i think you are still trying to find a neutral position for anti , in my honest opinion since you are playing with a slick / frictionless anti you should block closer to the table almost on the table . Your opponent had no backhand almost you could pressure more in the first few games but you knew how to win and that s what matters. Please watch Vinay Chopra's videos to get a more hold of side slide chop block . It s an amazing tool with slick anti to take off spin and speed and add tone yourself. Being away from table and chopping like a long pips would not be super affective to a player who knows how to play against anti. But good and very spinny forehands and congrats on the win
@tohidtt17 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! You're right and I feel it when playing. Thanks again.
@antispinguy18 күн бұрын
In my opinion, the main issue for your opponent wasn’t the spin reversal but his very weak backhand. By the way: I didn’t see any backhand attacks from him throughout the game. His forehand, though generally strong, didn’t work as well as expected because your antispin neutralized his follow-up attack, and he sometimes became unstable trying to finish the point on the first shot. The 'reversal' you mentioned was more of a change in the game’s pace, not a very significant one all the time. But, anyway, very nice comeback!

Since you have played with long pips and anti rubbers .. which one makes more trouble for the opponents..!! And what's the main difference in play between them?
@tohidttАй бұрын
Well, I think it largely depends on your and the opponent's level of playing. Both can be effective, but also have disadvantages. To me, I was making many mistakes with LP, so I switched to anti. Frictionless anti is normally slower than LP and has greater passive reversal (which depends on incoming spin!) But with LP you can have more attacking options, chop the ball far from table, and differentiate your block strokes. So, it really depends on you and level of playing, in my opinion.

thanks for posting---enjoyed watching---I am an anti spin player myself---so I can say this I think---I think you create a stopping point or limit to how good you can be by using anti---I think the best style is a strong forehand and backhand attack---I am older so for me too late to change---but for younger players---don't use anti---develop the strong European style--this will enable you to continue to improve and not hit a certain level you cannot get past by using anti.

Personally, I think you’d be better off with a slower anti such as ABS3 or ABS2 Evo since you don’t really attack much with your backhand. It would give you a bit better control and you can also keep balls short.

Thanks for the advice! I've tried them all and found ABS 2 PRO to be more effective for me. Yes, most of them times I don't attack with anti, but PRO's pushes are more effective and blocks are lower.

I think you won mainly because you are left-handed. The kid gave you many shots that were easy for you to attack him with your forehand. He still has the reflex, sometimes, to place the ball where most right-handed opponents can't attack well, which is typically their backhand area. He's more used to playing against right-handed players. He is also a bit inconsistent with his forehand attack. Anyway.. Nice game. Congratulations

Apparently the best shots with the anti-spin rubber were the ones you made with your arm relaxed. You have to get used to tensing a lot to hit it with your right and in less than a second relaxing your arm, it is not easy but it is what gives the best results. With the Anti I saw a technique of a player who sent the ball to the right side of his opponent so that he attacked with a topspin and then, very close to the rebound of the ball, he placed the ABS at about 45 degrees at a closed angle with respect to the table. In this way, the spin was so inverted that no matter how much the opponent tried to backspin the ball, it would go into the net and sometimes even bounce on the table.

Good game and strong nerves at the end there, even though you made it closer than necessary ;) What are your thoughts on the abs2 pro (I'm getting one on Friday replacing my evo)? From this performance it looks like a better fit than the abs3 because your active shots (pushes and bumps) looked more dangerous
@tohidtt2 ай бұрын
Thank you, Jeff! PRO feels significantly harder than EVO, which will influence your receives at the begining. Also, I think PRO's advantage is having lower throw angle on blocks. Otherwise, I didn't feel a big difference between the two. I totally agree with you. ABS 2 PRO produces more dangerous shots than ABS 3, but it's also a bit harder to control as well.

@@tohidtt Played my first tournament yesterday with the pro and it was indeed more dangerous on active shots than the others I played so far but I made a few easy mistakes with it because I didn't get an opportunity to practice with it beforehand. Solid game but I have a major critique: You need to work on your receive because a) you rely too much on your anti there and b) you don't place your ball well. Most of your receives are half-long to the middle, opening the whole table to the opponent. I'd say it's better to control the angles by placing the ball wide off to side and into the corners, giving your opponent fewer options, making it easier for you to react

Thanks, Diego! Yeah, I also feel that I'm getting used to it and playing more consistent. ABS 2 PRO is faster, has more aggressive capabilities, and might be slightly better in spin reversal. But all of them come with a price. It's harder to play with it. I had a chat with Luka Mladenovic and he told me that he used ABS2 with 2.5 mm sponge for seven years before playing with ABS 2 Pro and then he could control it. ABS 3 has good control and reversal, but it takes time to be able to effectively attack with it.
