This wasn't a hug between Mike and Scott anymore. That one ended when the scene in the movie ends. That's why this scene is not included. I mean, just considering how Scott acts. He bloody leaves Mike so easily in Italy, and seams generally rather on the shallow side. It's just unlike this character to go along with such intimacy. This hug is Keanu and River. How could Keanu even act here? Not possible

My god. This shot of Mikey holding onto Scott by the fire in a sense tells the whole story. The angle makes it almost look like Mikey himself is on fire, reaching for Scott out of the flames. It’s so symbolic of his character and their dynamic in this movie. And to know that River Phoenix was suffering in real time as this was being filmed is just so tragic and really breaks my heart. It’s so beautiful and so painful. 💔❤️🔥

I believe they were in love. Not scott and mike, but river and keanu. There was something there that doesn’t exist in average friendships. They were soulmates, crafted by the gods to meet each other. Thats why keanu talks about river the way he does.. he was in love. Maybe he just didn’t know it.

I only found out about his abuse about a year before Terry's tragic untimely death, and only found out about this song the day he passed away, a truly inspiring, fascinating and powerful song, it's like Terry has taken control back to his awful ordeal, and used it as a form of therapy, the slightly out of tune musical, almost fairground arrangement and Terry almost no pausing between his vocals, you can almost see him reliving his ordeal, as he is singing. What an absolute legend, he is, truly one of a kind, and a great loss to music and as a wonderful human being, love love love....Rest in peace, Terence Edward Hall.❤
