I read many opinions here about the work by Clara, in my mind as a composer this is a brilliant composition, very impressive textures, colors, phrases and beautiful melodies. The performance is amazing!!

Fein komponiertes Stück; Beethoven geriet in Rage, als Haydn dieses Trio sehr zurückhaltend beurteilte und Beethoven von einer Publikation der Noten abriet.

Yes, this is an outstanding performance. And yes, the pianist plays with the right balance of strength and delicacy. While I am unsure that he would hold my attention in a solo recital, he knows how to work in a group.

Really like this performance, playing this peace myself. But why is the pianist never in closeup? Even when he has solo it’s the cello or violin in close up, makes no sense. Great performance, not so great camera work

Le violoncelliste est exceptionnel par sa sensibilité à fleur de peau ; c’est la flamme du trio ! Le pianiste a un sens aigu de l’architecture et une très belle palette sonore ; c’est la colonne. Madame est un entre-deux de ces messieurs ; c’est la fleur... Magnifique formation qui révèle un chef-d’œuvre par une intense compréhension de l'œuvre. Il n'y a donc pas que les Français pour comprendre Fauré : son heure est enfin venue !

This is the before last work by Fauré. He died without hearing his last work, the quartet op. 121. This trio is a good testimony of the subtle Fauré's melodies and of his incredibly subtle harmonies.

The part is written for harmonium, not for piano! A piano, no matter how beautifully played, is no substitute.
