I dislike this mans. I go to Legion and this man in red treat me very badly. I remember this man.

I prefer to switch from a body lock to arm and wrist control. When doing the takedowns/ mat returns that he's demonstrating, you are at risk of your opponent doing a gramby or some other roll to break your grip and escape

i meet this man when i visit. Never have i meet someone in Americas that treat me worst than this man. Treat me like I am less human and less respect. TRUE story. SO sad. i want to workout there but treat me this way.

I think learning to fall etc is super important and something that many jiu jitsu practitioners are lacking, so I’d have to disagree that everyone should just go straight into drills

There is so much wrong with this… 1. Shooting to the incorrect side (shoot towards inside tie not the outside) 2. Shooting away from the opponents body. On pivot aim should be to have your ear on hip with head up. Arms exploding forward following the natural path of a leg. 3. No pigeon step (step so that lead foot is almost completely perpendicular to opponents feet and parallel to hips). This is so that drive angle is across the natural plane that feet move (left/right), while hands move along it. 4. Did not load opponent weight onto foot. Shot should only be initiated as or after weight transference has been achieved from rear to front foot. 5. Whilst shooting towards one’s own inside tie, clear the opponents hand by rapidly retracting arms from extended (opponents grip should be forcibly broken from via this contraction prior to or at latest during level change). 6. When the tie failed to break (because he was shooting towards the wrong tie) he didn’t transition to cross body ankle pick. (Obviously I would hope it’s purely for demonstration purposes) Point being yeah this defense works…If your opponent does literally every mechanic in a sweep single from a tie completely wrong. I know BJJ guys can’t wrestle for the most part, but come on. This is stuff a first year wrestler should know.

Yes and no. Imo yes, I would rather jump right into Jiu-jitsu techniques/drills for warm ups. No to the fact new people need assistance learning even the basic movements ( shrimps, front rolls, ect. ) Advanced classes, Yes Classes with beginners mixed in, no.

At my gym we always warm up by doing passing, top control, and sweeps. We just go at like 40% and whoever is player B is usually just throwing out looks for player A, not really resisting to much, just not giving it away for free.
