All these opinions and law enforcement getting nowhere. Why doesn't someone call Ft Campbell for 101 ST Airborne Rangers for help. this is their expertise. They'll have him under control in one or two days. This type terrain is where they train. Ha Ha !

Great Video!! I Lived in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, worked in Mid-town for over 20 years... This video brought back so many memories, and remined me why I don't even want to visit the place... I really miss the Food, The Food the Food... did I mention I miss the Food... but other than that, I just can't find it in myself to spend money in a city that actively works to harm law abiding people. Thanks Again...

Hey sensei, I hope your well what happens if you run away after injuring the bad person without telling the police?
@oikddojo

@@johnbosco8198 If that person you injured calls the Police first you could be arrested. If you call the Police first you’re getting ahead of the situation. Cameras are everywhere. This happened to one of my students. He legitimately defended himself and didn’t call the police. He was arrested the next day.

Great video Sensei. For anyone looking for resources on use of force law, look up Andrew Branca and his book/channel Law of Self Defense.

I would contend that you should say next to nothing to the police, especially if you have USCCA, US Law Shield, or similar legal protection. My script is simple: "Officer, I will be glad to cooperate once I've spoken to my lawyer." As you said (and as Miranda dictates), anything you say can and will be used against you. Therefore, the less I say before talking to a lawyer, the better, especially when the adrenaline is still high and recollection of the event may be affected by that hormone dump. Go get checked out, as Calandra Sensei says. That will buy the requisite time needed to talk to counsel and recover a clear mind. I've spent a lot of time researching this topic, including reading a ton of books and articles in addition to talking to police officers and defense lawyers. They all agree that less is more before talking to the police.

Masad Ayoob recommends that you give your name and point out witnesses and where evidence like shell casings might be - but tell them you'll be happy to cooperate further after consulting your attorney. The reasoning for this is so that investigators have a chance to talk to witnesses and get evidence that will most likely be missed or destroyed.

@@oikddojo I am familiar with the long standing conversation in the matter of Goju-ryu Sanchin. In that you admit that what you are teaching is not the only way you practice Sanchin, would you be so kind to compare and contrast your practice in that regard and to what purpose the subject of video serves in that regard.

This kata is taught at blue belt level as the light green belt test in my old sensei's dojo, but the real bunkai of it defeats 2nd Dan black belts in full contact sparring.

Good stuff. This kata is very rich and deep in bunkai and fighting skills. This is a pretty hard kata to learn. It's the last one I was working on to get a Black Belt and had to quit karate classes due to personal/family reasons.
