What about the transition from coal to gas for heating. What about moving from steam to internal combustion for transportation. And of course the electrification of lighting in the home major energy transitions have happened before we can do them again.

Ukraine has had these missiles for over two years but they could not use them because of the rules under the lend lease! But stupid Putin broke all the rules by bringing in North Korean military and long range ballistic missile from Kim Un North Korea that can reach anywhere in the world!!. So this level of aggression is 100% on Stupid Putin head!!!

I'm confused... the US didn't want to get into the war. They didn't get involved until the end stages. Who would assume they did everything on their own and single handedly won?

The Entrepreneurial State by Mazzucato. The government's invisible hand plays an important role in directing the economy towards innovation. Silicon Valley became a tech hub because of the government's initiative to create a tech industry. Pharmaceutical research is another example. Research and developmentis an expensive and potentially an unprofitable gamble. The next industry is pushing development in green energy. Fossil fuel companies don't do it because they prioritize their net income. The downside is companies monopolize the market by patenting inventions that are tax payer funded.

So many people in this comment section are uninformed. The US is a net exporter of oil. We have been energy independent for the last four years. We have so much oil we sell the excess. Now the challenge is to modernize our electrical grid and move to green energy sources, which are also the cheapest form of energy right now in the form of wind and solar. The Biden Administration accomplished a great than by passing the infrastructure bill to accomplish all of this. Let's hope the next president doesn't undo all that progress.

Remember that Ford ALSO BUIKT THE GERMAN TANKS. He got congressional approval. And we bombed his factory. He SUES THE US GOVERNMENT AND WON in 1954. Why? Because he was given permission. THE US industrialists paid for Hitlers steel, oil, diesel, poison gas, etc. Its all been proven in court trials.

What a strangely incorrect short about the angry moustache man. Like him stopping after Austria would’ve been completely in his and his generals character and interests. Or that the blitzkrieg was just him entirely and totally not another general making it a reality. Very odd commentary from a “historian”

When was this recorded? Either looking at economic data or looking around during short visits, It's not my impression the standard of living is lower in Russia than in Mexico. Perhaps in the '90s. It's now a top 10 economy in the world in nominal US$ GDP or a top 5 economy measured by PPP, according to the CIA. Imo it's a huge economy, just not compared to China / US.

The allies overblown punishment of Germany and blaming them for a war that all of Europe was equally guilty of invited nazism. In my opinion, the fact that the allies basically created thier own monster is not talked about enough. Even the US president said france and Britain needed to go easy on Germany but they just couldn't let the opportunity for injust revenge pass.

This is basically a lot of dithering to say that yes, Homo Sapiens originated in Africa. It's Africa where the vast majority of hominin diversity is found and it's also where the most human genetic diversity is. The most we can say is that there might have been more diversity in non-African Homo Sapiens than has been preserved to this day.

Cool yeah but you know what also works great, wasting less and being more efficient with what you have. Better mileage, better refineries, better fuel all means less waste. Switching some of the powergrid to renewable power so you use less oil, adding more public transport options will reduce reliance on personal transportation for everything. Adding trains as an alternative to flying etc are all options to diversifying and increasing resilience of the American system. It doesn't have to be one or the other mutually exclusive choices, you can work complimentary options side by side that each play to different strengths and can function as reliable alternatives if something happens.

Yeah, I’ve seen people that couldn’t handle them and shouldn’t have gotten into it and/or took it too far, but there are also people who have tried it and ended up fine (or even _better off_ for it). I’ve done D M T over 30x, and L S D & psilocybin more times than I can count. It’s been about a decade since I’ve had any of them, mostly because I just haven’t really felt like it, and I think the only long term consequence is that I’ve become more conscientious & open-minded, and less egotistical. Again though, sure: it’s definitely not for everyone… I’m just not sure whether fear-mongering is really an effective way to dissuade those people.
