My best friend killed his wife with his revolver and then killed himself with it. He was a successful entrepreneur and he and his wife had been married over 20 years. I had a premonition that something wasn’t right so I reached out to him to see if they were alright yesterday . He indicated everything was fine. After he hung up he killed his wife and then himself. When he cried out to God for direction and deliverance what do you think he heard? Nothing because God isn’t real!

Popcorn was snapping in the hot oil on the kitchen stove And the sky through the kitchen window was cold and poised and threatening Heard your voice come lilting through the wall I heard your voice come sailing from the other room Let the young lions come Let me break their jaws Let the young lions come out Let me break their jaws with my bare fingers Coffee was dripping through the paper filter cone The hip scent of it nearly knocked me out I heard your voice come lilting through the back of the refrigerator Heard your voice come breaking through the wall Let the young lions come out Let me talk them out of it Let the young lions come Let me break their jaws with my bare fingers

I never realized how boring Les claypool is. Imposing but boring. Leon Russell had a better cover. But hey Les is the audio visual approximation of the obligatory Hendrix perm. Leastways that’s the way the dynamic plays itself out at south by southwest. Yuck

Great funny stuff (as a liberal I get the joke). Does anybody Know when this live version was recorded? Way after the original studio version based on Randy's grey hair here. PS Dick Cavett is not a Jew.

respectfully, “as a liberal,” you clearly do not understand the “joke”

This song always reminds me of the comment on racism that I grew up with. In the south, they hate Black people, but that black guy on the porch, he's practically a member of our family. In the north, they love Black people, but that black guy on the porch, He's coming to kill us.

I leave the house as soon as it gets light outside Like a prisoner breaking out of jail And I steal down to business highway 15-501 Like I had a bounty hunter on my tail And somebody stops to pick me up But he drops me off just down the block And along the highway Where the empty spirits breathe Wild sage growing in the weeds Walked down the soft shoulder and I, I count my steps Headed vaguely eastward, sun in my eyes And I lose my footing I skin my hands, breaking my fall And I laugh to myself And look up at the skies And then I think I hear angels in my ears Like marbles being thrown against a mirror And along the highway Where unlucky stray dogs bleed Wild sage growing in the weeds On some days I don't miss my family On some days I do On some days I think I'd feel better if I tried harder Most days I know that's not true I lay down right where I fell, cold grass in my face And I can hear the traffic like the rhythm of the tides And I stare at the scrape on the heel of my hand Until it doesn't sting so much Until the blood's dried And when somebody asks me, "John, are you okay?" I'm not okay And along the highway From the cast-off, the innumerable seeds Wild sage growing in the weeds

When I got home I meant to give you some sweet chrysanthemum But the wind chimes were ringing all wrong And you were standing in the doorway singing along And I tried to remember how nice it had been A long long time ago But I couldn't remember I honestly could not remember And a package came for you today from Hunan province The postmark burning jet black in the summer sun Someone was changing, someone was changing from the inside out And I turned around to face you Sweet peas in the garden, all in full bloom And I thought I heard the traces of an old song murmuring in the room Like a half-remembered conversation, but I let it fall away And then I couldn't remember Then I honestly could not remember And a package came for you today, from Hunan province The postmark BLAZING jet black in the summer sun Someone was losing, someone was losing something that was very dear to him And I turned myself around to face you

It's so good to learn that right outside your window There's only friendly fields and open roads And you'll sleep better when you think you've STEPPED back from the brink And found some peace inside yourself, lay down your heavy load It gets all right, to dream at night Believe in SHELTERING skies and STABLE earth below But when you see ME, YOU WILL know It's okay to find the faith to saunter forward With no fear of shadows spreading where you stand And you'll breathe easier just knowing that the worst is all behind you And the waves that tossed the raft all night have set you DOWN on dry land It gets okay to praise the day Believe in SOLID skies and SLATE BLUE earth beneath But hear his breath come, WHISTLING through his teeth Walk by faith Tell no one what you've seen It's so good to learn that from right here, the view goes on forever And you'll never want for comfort and you'll never be alone See the sunset turning red, let all be quiet in your head And look about, all the stars are coming out They shine like LITTLE steel swords YOU CAN wish me well, where I go But when you see me (when my change comes) you'll know
