18:30 A series of photos from 1895 that makes me with I was born in California in 1880 so I might have been able to experience such a wonderful place.

Bummer, I just came back from this hike, solo hike, unfortunately, i only got to the reservoir spot, the side trail leading to the mine wasn't visible, it was completely overgrown and i didn't wanna fall down the mountain either so i just did a 180 and bailed. I'll probably go again and try to make my way but i don't wanna step on a rattle snake or trip and roll down the mountain like Patrick star or Chris Farley in the movie Black Sheep lol

Very informative and thorough! Great job. Crazy as it sounds, it has been 50 years since I took a group of kids in Pasadena hiking up that trail. I didn't see half the stuff you pointed out. Now I hope I can get in shape to make it again.

Nice video! I think I've seen the adit for the first mine in the video from Castle Canyon Trail. I thought about taking a quick detour to look at it, but decided just to keep going up/down. Perhaps I'll poke around next time I'm up there.

1st time I climbed into that mine was in 1965 I was 11 years old, I used to climb in all those mines back then even building little rock dams upstream for hot days because the stream flowed pretty well even in summer. Great memories, no internet or video games just great adventures

I started exploring all these mines back in 1965 when I was 11 years old, Las Flores and Rubio Canyons were my playground, I would wander up there after school at Loma Alta Elementary and on weekends. My friends and I would build little dams with sand bags from the fire dept to make little wading pools to cool off in the summer
