I would need more info. How did you break it in? Did you turn any of needles and which ones? Is your glow plug starter battery good? Check by removing the plug and seeing if it glows. Do you own a temp gun? Without knowing I would say to replace the glow plug with a new one and set the carb needles back to factory settings.
@jav1prz
@jav1prz 3 күн бұрын
@ It took me for ever to get it started the first time. When I finally did I just let it sit and idle for 3 tanks with the o ring. At the 4 tank I removed the ring by the filter and I got it to run around for bit but would shut off after 5-10 minutes. Yes I did turn the needle that has the fuel going into it a bit I thought maybe I wasn’t getting enough fuel. So now I could start first pull but shuts off immediately after a few short starts it won’t start at all🤷🏻‍♂️ just no sure what to do I feel I’ve seen so many videos with no success on getting my truck running
@nwirc
@nwirc 3 күн бұрын
@@jav1prz I don't understand the o ring thing but did you let it cool 100% in between each tank? Are you priming the carb before you start it by using your finger to plug the muffler? What percentage of nitro are you using? If 20% with all that idling, I would say your glow plug is shot. The best way to reset this process is to replace with new glow plug and reset the carb needles to factory.

Everyone that has talked to me said Proboat and Horizon said "You have to use the Spektrum lipos to hit the stock 50mph speeds out of the box". Thanks for bringing this up. I know for a fact our 6s SMC (green packs) will blow the Spektrum's out of the water. Get those smart batteries wet and they are Toast! Ask me how I know. I'm not spending over $420 on Spektrum packs to test this thiery. I'll bust out the programmer on the next run. Please lmk how the timing works out for you. @ i was digging thru the instructions for the dx3 remote that comes with it and sure enough we can turn the throttle up to 150% turns out they are all set to 100% out the box and nowhere does it say to turn it up for full performance, but i saw big b does it with his fancy one and sure enough when i looked up the video and did it to the 48, there is an audible increase in rpm! That should push it to 50! Im turning timing back down to factory to test this first lol
@Wangan280z
@Wangan280z 8 күн бұрын
So just came back from the lake and… 150% throttle setting did not change the boats top speed for me, it was windy and choppy, did 37-39mph. But then i upped the timing to 11 degrees 1 up from factory, and whoo doggy it acts like the 36 now, actually blew it over once, did 45mph consistently in rough windy water, thats 50 on glass. Its my thought that the spektrum g2 smart batteries are upping the timing profile to achieve 50. No added heat to anything with the added timing. Im gonna settle it down and max out the speed of this timing profile then im jumping to 15 degrees

I just purchased three of these tugboats and just out of courisity I tried to lift the control horn up like you did in the video and nothing budged, I believe that the kort nozzle/rudder has a solid upper shaft molded in it , so the only way to safely do this on these new boats will be to remove the propeller from the prop shaft and then slide it through the kort nozzle while slightly turned to one side!

Exciting video! I enjoyed the heck out of it. Brought back a lot of memories. If you can, I would take that rear wing off. Zip tie the wheelie bar together… I’ll message you a picture of how mine is set up. It keeps it from coming apart. I will send you a video on how to secure the battery. There’s actually a kit for like $6 dollars that works great. I would recommend using about a quarter mile for your speed runs. You can raise the antenna as high as possible and use a longer tube and that’ll get you a little extra range but that stock transmitter can go 750 feet or so each direction no problem on fresh batteries (I put my slightly used batteries in cars that don't need very fresh batteries). Take note of how far you were running each time. I tried to do .5 miles round-trip and ideally .55. This is much more important when you start getting the speeds up closer to 100 but it is a good habit to use 0.5 mile for your total trip. I would suggest about 200 g of weight on the front… And when you’re easing into the throttle that last little bit is the trickiest so the last little increment when you’re giving it throttle, you have to have it close to top speed before you that last little bit if that makes sense. It will reduce the chances of flipping. I recall the stock ESC feeling like there were about 8 increments of speed and that last one seems to kind of jolt the car with one last little burst of speed which is annoying/difficult to deal with. I suggest lowering the suspension with gas fuel tubing inside of the shocks. Once you’ve given up on those tires, I would go with or a good belted tire or GRP or one of the options we discussed. sorry if this says lots of errors… I’m writing it on my phone . I also put several layers of gorilla tape on the top of my body because the flips are an inevitable when you’re getting it sorted out. It helps keep it looking fresher. Great first runs!!! I think that had many more miles an hour in it with a clean run. Once you start getting solid runs in, I would suggest preheating your battery and that will give you a couple extra MPH. I have a couple extra tips I’ll give you off-line. 😉 Thanks for the shoutout!

You said that you are feeding your buggy with a 11.1v battery but I am pretty sure a Tamiya Grasshopper usually recommended 7.2v NiMh battery. My suggestion: Bash the buggy around and see if after a while the issue persists. If at low voltage you turn the steering but the buggy doesn't accelerate it's definetly because of the higher voltage. But frankly, other suggestions in these comments seem to be better than what I am suggesting.

That thing is absolutely nuts! Awesome runs. I would love to see how fast it is on a glass smooth lake.

Thank you. I'm still kinda new to the rc boating world but I'm a fast learner. I would like to get it up to 100 mph but I don't think that's going to happen on the stock electronics without burning them up.
