The issue for me with the "inspire yourself" argument is that God didn't create any of us to be alone. We are all meant to have people in our lives who value us, and ultimately it's people that God meant us to live for because He teaches us to serve and love others and have family and friends and to bring steangers back to Him. When you can't find a circle of people to appreciate you in return and thus fulfil such a huge part of God's plan for your life, how are you supposed to inspire yourself? What are you supposed to inspire yourself to do or be when no one wants your service or your love? You feel like a person with food who set out to feed the hungry but they never want anything from your sack, only from others'. And there's nothing wrong with your sack, you even went out of your way to make sure it was good quality so the ones you feed would be well nourished. But still they don't want it. Imagine being in that kind of situation. How would you feel? What are you going to inspire yourself to do then? Especially if your light and help gets rejected over and over again, year after year, and you continue to find yourself rejected and alone... No one was meant to love themselves by themself or be their own only friend. That will NEVER according to God's teachings be a happy way for any of us to live. Trying to be happy like that won't help anyone to cope. I would instead suggest to focus on your relationship with God. And try to remember that serving others is really serving Him, and HE will NEVER let your efforts go unnoticed or unappreciated. He will never let you go unloved by Him. God gives each of us different trials and missions in life. He allows us to experience different hardships than others. Sometimes we won't know a single other person who has experienced some of the things we have. And at first that came make us feel lonely or even bad. Like we might think "Why does God only let me suffer with this trial?" Our minds always go first to punishment. We think we've done something wrong and so God sent us this hardship as a result. But honestly, that's not necessarily the case. God knows there are things He can trust us with that He can't necessarily trust others with. Sometimes He lets us suffer with certain things bc He knows He can trust us to remain faithful and never give up until the trial is over and He needs people to be examples of faith and perseverance through hard times. And that is a very encouraging thought. God also let's those that He loves suffer so they can be prepared for the wonderful blessings He has in store for them in heaven. If you are suffering a lot, but still do your best to be a good person and be faithful, then I think it's much more likely that God is trusting you with a trial rather than punishing you. He's preparing for greater blessings in the life to come. Think about this: imagine your life on earth went perfectly and you never wanted for anything whether good friends, family or anything else. How much then would you take the blessings of heaven? Maybe not much. It would seem like nothing was even changing when you got to heaven. But imagine how much you will cherish and how exquisitely happy you will be to enter heaven after so much loneliness and trial. Heaven will then really seem like heaven. You will know that few others will ever experience! Remember that in God's perfect world, people will know how to value you and love you the way that they should. And many of those family and friends are already waiting for you to come home to them. When no one here treats you how they should, remember that. Your true home awaits you and there you WILL be properly valued, treasured, appreciated and loved by those you value in return. 💖
