Arutiunian must have really loved the Trumpet as he wrote no less than 4 works for it and orchestra.

Loved playing this under your baton. The I’m sure this is not the recording of us playing it. Probably the Eastman guys playing it.

Robert, I think this works very well. Or rather, you've made it work very well. I wouldn't have thought that Vivaldi's music could be rendered so idiomatic-sounding for wind band, but damned if you haven't done it!

Sounds great. Crazy how one person can be successful at so many things in life.

Is there a video?

I don’t have one. I believe there was one made at the performance. I suspect Columbus State University has the video archived.

@@robertrumbelow6466 is there anyone I can contact to be able to view the video? I received a piano reduction of this piece from Michael Burritt himself to play for my senior recital this coming April. I would love to see how the percussionist in the recording interpreted the piece so I can get an idea of set up and/or mallet changes.

@@EvanTheBehemoth I'm not exactly sure since I haven't worked at Columbus State University for a number of years. I live in Texas now. You might try asking Dr. Brad Palmer on faculty at Columbus State. I do know there was a video of the performance, but I don't have it any longer...it was a good while ago. Molly Yeh was the percussion soloist. She was at Juilliard at the time. Now she has a cooking show on the Food Network! Amazing young lady! :)

This is an excellent work by Prokofiev that is still underrated today. The performance here is quite fine.
