Sir, this a true work of art for those of us who can understand and appreciate everything that goes into bringing a set of “old dirty castings”, and some various sizes of bar stock, together in the form of what could best be call an animated history lesson. Thank you for letting us look at the finished beauty. Does he or she have a regal name?

I recall seeeing a video of this engine running some years ago. It inspired me to buy one and I am now building and altering it with a bit of scale detail here and there. They are impressive models but few are as impressive as this one: John McDivitt was a true craftsman and I'm glad that you keep this one under glass.

But I don’t think it’s running on steam. A well made engine.
@reddrryder17 күн бұрын
It runs on steam or air. If you read the description you will see it is running on air from a small aquarium bubbler pump. Thanks for watching!
@tonyking203020 күн бұрын
That really is a superbly built engine. I have built one & it is a joy to watch, if run on steam these engines can be run very slowly.
@oceanmariner21 күн бұрын
Walking beam engines are fun to watch. In the early 1950s as a kid, I got to ride on the ferry Eureka. Once the cars were parked, you could go to the door to the engineroom and watch. When getting underweigh, the engineer had to manually operate the valves until the engine was cycling faster. On deck you could see the walking beam nodding.

Dare I suggest you might reach a wider audience? By moving the camera equally slowly to show more details of that gorgeous engine.

Not only does it look fantastic, but it runs perfectly! It's very difficult to get a scale engine to run so smoothly at such a slow speed. Everything on that complicated engine has to be completely perfect.
