How do I improve the quality when using podcasting softwares like riverside studio?
@infinitequality19 күн бұрын
There's a couple of options #1 use steelseries sonar streamer software to add the compressor to you mic, then use the mic aux output from sonar to you podcasting software. Or use a program called equalizerAPO to add the same effects to your mic.
@WolfgangBrozartАй бұрын
I wish this worked for just talking to people over discord outside of OBS, but great guide.
@infinitequality19 күн бұрын
You can use steelseries sonar to add the compressor to you mic or you can use equalizerAPO. That's what I would suggest. But if you this you only need the obs limiter.

Would you recommend the wifi or bluetooth and did you use 2 lights or more? Thank you so much once again.

The Bluetooth comes with lights. You want as much light on the screen as possible. 1 light would be tough to work with, but the least amount you can buy is 2 anyway.

If I add a mic in the sources for the scene, I get another entry call Mic in addition to Mic/Aux. Do you not add a mic in the sources?
@infinitequality3 ай бұрын
If you add a mic as a source it will only show up in the scenes that source is connected to. If you add it in the settings, like I suggested in this video, it will be a global device and be connected to every scene.

Why foam and not pop filter?
@infinitequality3 ай бұрын
A pop filter is ugly, harder to use properly, and will not be as effective as the foam in this use case. For youtube videos and live streamers, using a pop filter is a bad idea. Pop filters are used in recorded studio settings where you can properly control distances from the mic. Live streamers and people talking into a mic for a youtube video is nothing like recording in a controlled studio environment. It's close to a stage performance like a comedian or a band. Have you ever seen a comedian or a band use pop filters on stage? Have you ever seen them use foam?

is there a delay on the audio with this method for me i dont want hear audio delayed if i want to stream on discord
@infinitequality5 ай бұрын
This depends on your equipment and computer. This method should be primarily used for sharing and streaming, in which case there won't be a delay to the viewers, but I would use it to play as there will be input lag, a type of delay, though everything will be in sync if you set it up properly. You should continue to play the way you normally would, and just use this to stream, and that will not be out of sync.

Yes. Just add a hotkey under the trigger section.

Your chroma key settings immediately made my greenscreen look better! I greatly appreciate it! My only issue now is I look orange and can't quite dial in my camera settings. It may just be my budget webcam. I can get my skin looking good, but that throws off my greenscreen. I feel that's probably due to my lighting, though. Definitely gonna pick up some RGB flood lights and either a ring light or some sort of glow lights that clip on top of my monitor. I imagine that'd fix my skin tone issue? I also got a free camera recently and was gonna see if it worked and if I can use that instead of my budget webcam.
@infinitequality5 ай бұрын
A new camera would help for sure. For now one thing you can do to help is use a color correction filter after your chroma key filter in OBS. Then use the saturation and tint sliders to try and fix your skin tones.
@korabeats_5 ай бұрын
@@infinitequality Awesome, thanks! I will be trying that for sure. Grabbed 2 of my wife's makeup mirror ring light things and threw em on top of my KRK rokit 5's to use as key lights and it's crazy how much of a difference that made already. Will now just need to dial in those sliders. Never realized the importance of lighting for the camera. Definitely don't need to spend a ton of money to make it look great. Appreciate your knowledge and help!

i have a weird static that shows up on my mic almost like interference, anybody have any idea on how to fix this
@infinitequality6 ай бұрын
Try moving the mic around the space and see if it's picking something up. Monitors, TV's, and other devices can cause some static like sounds on many mics. It will get louder or quicker depending on how close it is to the source. My drawing screen makes the most noise and I have to use an mxl-bcd 1 to get rid of the noise. The other reason could be the the XLR cable. Try and move it around, it may be laying on something that's putting out noise, power cables and devices can also cause this depending on the device and cable.
@wesleylittle93956 ай бұрын
i'll try messing with those things. i have a very quiet pc, barely audible even when sitting right next to it. the cord only comes into contact with the desk and i really have no way around that without laying it on the pc which i imagine will make the sound worse. i did realize getting an aux cable and running an output from the mic reduced the buzzing greatly. not totally sure what the issue is, but it's about 90% resolved and i appreciate the suggestions. i'll see if they help

Is it possible to have 2 folders to chose random videos from based off the trigger?
@infinitequality6 ай бұрын
You can do this by setting up two actions for random videos one pointing to each folder. Then create a new action that is set to random. Add both sub actions for each random video folder to the action set to random. This will in effect randomly choose to update the source from either sub action attached to the different folders.

Great tutorial! Do you have one to record audio only in Audacity for example?
@infinitequality7 ай бұрын
Audacity is actually pretty terrible these days and I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to do some simple audio recording you can actually use OBS to capture and edit in something like Resolve or olive. I would recommend not using audacity these days. If you don't need to edit, then just record in OBS and convert the file to audio only using shutter encode. If you want a simple editor use olive, and use the old unsupported version instead of the beta.

Something you said here really kind of took me by surprise. "Learn to love your own voice." Seems to be a super simple, innocuous statement - but this is super important and I never even considered it in that context. Wise words. Also, do you have any recommendations for third party processing or anything? Or even whether or not you should use it? I'm primarily focused on recording but I would like to get a legitimate podcast/video sound quality. Thanks in advance mate.
@infinitequality7 ай бұрын
Everything you need to get a great sound can be done inside OBS with plugins. If you want the highest quality audio possible, invest in a great microphone (sm7b) and a behringer soundboard with compression. Nothing beats good equipment for audio quality.

Good light is good said but if i do Lets Plays and legit cant see anything because 10 lights flash my eyes its not realy the best thing xD
@infinitequality5 ай бұрын
The trick for using lights and not blinding yourself is to use a lot of lights spread out instead of a couple of lights turned way up. Putting a couple of lights in 2 spots means the light is focused and that causes them to hurt your eyes. A lot of smaller lights spread out but turned down means the light is less intense from one spot making it easier on your eyes.
