This is the closest I'll ever get to experiencing the thrill of a cross-country train journey without leaving my couch. Anyone else feel the same?

I love train sounds so much I grew up semi-near tracks and I also suffered from insomnia all throughout my tween/teen hood and hearing those sounds really comforted me. I’m on something now that knocks me out usually but on the rare chance I’m still up or wake up in the middle of the night and hear a train it’s such a blessing and nostalgic for me. I hope to always live near the tracks

Sucks big time. 10 min in an ad starts and wakes you up. SUCKS!!

I understand that watching ads on KZbin can be frustrating. Unfortunately, the presence of ads is beyond my control. KZbin, like many other platforms, uses advertisements as a primary means of generating revenue. This allows them to continue offering a wide range of free content to users. While ads can be annoying, they help support the creators whose content you enjoy. If you'd like an ad-free experience, KZbin offers a Premium subscription. This not only removes ads but also provides additional benefits such as background play, offline downloads, and access to KZbin Music.

This is great! Would I be able to embed this video to a Chicago website that I am working on? It would link directly to this KZbin video. The website showcases Chicago through local creatives and i think this would make for great audiovisual content. Would love to provide more details if interested. Thank you!!

Only horns? I think people may be looking for that low distant engine rumble- more than the train horns! Horns aren't relaxing for some.

There's an ethanol plant near where i live, god i love hearing those c39s and acers sounding off, they sound almost sad, like they're all alone on the way to their destination and don't know where they're going. I want to go on that adventure with them but i can't. It reminds me of everyone I've met who's gone away that i can't see, i want to see them but i can't.

I remember when I was a little girl we lived in Chicago. My Mom would sit on our front porch at night and chat with the neighbors. I can remember the tone of their voices as I lay my head on my Moms lap. Muffled, low tone, even their laughter had a soft relaxing, safe tone. After everyone would go home I still layed there and I could here the trains horns coming from what I think was the stock yards. It was a safe place on my Moms lap and the trains were my lulliby.

I love the sound of trains. It makes me homesick for places and people that no longer exist. This is the closest I can come to visiting them again.

There's something about the sound of a train whistle that catches at my heart. I can't explain it. It's sad, but yet comforting and peaceful at the same time.

Really cool horns, nice video. I noticed in your description you talk about copyright and this is your video. Just letting you know I came across another KZbin video that appears to use this exact soundtrack. Let me know if you want a link to that video.

I am a night owl and as I get older have trouble getting to sleep. I put trains on to turn my mind off. It doesn't put me to sleep because I stay awake to hear the whistle. This one has a lot of whistles so maybe sleep will come. Like most people, there is something about them that is nostalgic. I remember being in bed and wondering what each sound was signaling. I always felt safe because I know my parents were there. I now open the window at times just to hear them in the woods by our house.

Train sounds just bring me nostalgia to when me, my mom, and my aunt sometimes would go on walks around town, hang out at my school's playground, and end up coming home late at night with nothing but orange street lamps lighting around. I'd hear the train as we passed my school. I can still vizualize the orange hue. And our elongated shadows.
