Push back? Here's some for you, and it's a true story: Back in the 1970's my paternal grandmother tried to ignore me. I was only about 5 years old, and my older brother and I were dropped off for the day with our gran. My grandparents had only recently moved up to Joburg from Durban, so we hadn't seen them that often, but on the rare occasions we'd met, she'd give me these fake smiles, ignore me (unless someone else was around) and dote on my brother. I'd picked up on her attitude towards me, and didn't like it, so when we were dropped off and my gran gave my brother this special gift (it wasn't his birthday) of this beautiful, big yellow road grader, I wondered if there was a gift for me. There wasn't, of course, so I thought the grader was for both of us. I was wrong. My gran told me not to touch my brothers toy! Gran's sister Sally was there that day, and I loved Aunt Sally, especially when she noticed that her sister had deeply upset me. I might have only been 5, but I didn't cry. I just went from sad to lonely, to angry... really angry. Aunt Sally had words with the old bat, and told her to make things right by me. Gran came to me with her fake smile plastered all over her conniving face, and in an overly sweet voice asked me if I wanted some tea. My reply: "Ha, ha, damn funny, (Heavy on the sarcasm there) take your tea and shove it!" Yeah, I was pissed! My Aunt Sally was in the kitchen still, but burst out laughing when she heard my reply. I loved the look of bewildered shock that wiped the pasty false smile off gran's face. Justice had been served! I knew I'd get a hiding from my mom when I got home, as mom had taught us to be respectful, but I never did get that hiding. It was only decades later that my mom told me how proud of me she'd been, how Aunt Sally had told her what the old bat had done to me. That magnificent yellow grader was never seen again either, as my mom told her mother in law to shove it as well. There were other minor and major incidents between the old battle-axe and I over the years, but I knew better by then than to expect her to be fair. When I was 15, she tried to convince me to change my first name from Robert to George, normally the firstborn sons name in honour of our ancestor who'd emigrated from Scotland to South Africa. I declined to change my name, just like I declined to attend her funeral... Ha ha, damn funny. Maybe one day I'll talk about the car she stole from me, and the family holiday she tried to ruin because she wasn't invited, but I've let her back into my head with this story, and there is only so much I can take of those unhappy memories.

A 22 yo shouldn't be thinking about marriage just yet. I'm of the mindset that just living together - where you're equal partners - is a better way to go. That and don't get baby trapped before you can really afford one. (That goes for both of them.) Prenuptials are also a good thing if done right. It should not be a master/servant contract.

didn't the stupid SIL stop to think that it could backfire and she'd lose all support from her bil? It's not BIL's obligation to support her and her daughter, he's helping her out because he wants to,

There are 7.8 billion people on this planet. DO NOT lose your mind over one. Embrace your fears. Do not stay in a dysfunctional relationship for the children. It won't hurt the children for their parents to get divorced. You are only wasting time if you don't learn anything. Don't be mean. Don't seek revenge. Etc. Be nice. Wish them the best. Move forward in a positive, healthy direction. Etc. The Best Form Of Revenge Is Success

This woman sounds bitter that she chose a man she supposedly "loves" but can't afford the life she wants to live. You want all of your kids to have an equal living experience and life? Maybe try harder to only have kids with 1 man.

Male best friend from college? Wtf lol. I was expecting some childhood friend lol otherwise it would have to be some traumatic bond because what’s the likelihood of making a best friend of the opposite sex outside of a traumatic response or having no other friends outside that (and that would push the having no relationship either lol-unless… gay best friend which women seem to almost fetishize).

you are an idiot. why do you keep going back to be questioned? get a lawyer, you moron. no matter what cops say, you have the right to have a lawyer present during questioning. disown your daughter, sue the friend for defamation, and file assault charges for BIL sucker punching you. this is why I say the MeToo thing has gone too far. now we're supposed to believe all allegations no matter what without any evidence to support them?
