Terrible opening on the presentation for a DEMA rep.. a single zenneial type of air bud vs a professional audio/mic.. opening the rep was twitchy with body posture and uncompressed not talking to the audience. Who Cares about the Formula 1 race¿? Mention it, 1 slide ppt of it and the overlap then move on 🤦🏼♂️ if it's a sponsor then link it 🙄, actually advertise have a interlude. Geeze this was terrible

This feature was rolled out in Fall 2023 to select users. If you aren't seeing it as an option, it's probably because it just hasn't been made available to your IG account yet. It does seem to be more widely available, so you might want to make sure your IG app has been updated to the latest version. Otherwise, check back often to see if it's been made available to you, and hopefully, you'll be able to enjoy the feature soon! :)

It was so nice to see Zale Parry from a relatively recent video. Since I don't know much about scuba- or skin-diving, the first time I saw her was on a rerun from an episode of Groucho Marx's "You Bet Your Life" from Dec 30, 1954. She and her fellow contestant won almost $2,000--which, adjusted for inflation, was worth a lot more at that time. With her winnings, one of the things she said she wanted to do is to go to Europe to meet Jacques Cousteau!

I really like the way Nicole talks about rethinking the way to reach new audiences for SCUBA. I have also met Nicole at trash clean ups, and she really spear heads the effort, shows great leadership skills, and is just super nice and easy to talk to! It was really inspiring, as a fellow, female diver, to meet someone like Nicole and learn from all her diving expertise as an instructor. She makes SCUBA diving an exciting opportunity to all! Great job Nicole!

First off, I would like to mention that Nicole’s motivation to reveal her project is so refreshing. This project and vision is very realistic and it goes hand in hand to saving our first concern - Global Warming by cleaning out the oceans. Her act of kindness to make scuba diving more accessible to those with lower incomes is so heartfelt and I am one of the many who fall in that category.

Nicole is a phenomenal person and an awesome instructor. I had the pleasure of being taught how to Scuba dive by her and because of her immense enthusiasm for Dive I can now enjoy the ocean the way I have always wanted to. I completed my certification in August of 2019 and had the opportunity to go to Antigua and complete my open water certification and enjoy one of the most beautiful ocean reefs in the world. If it weren’t for Nicole I would not have the education or enthusiasm to fulfill my love for the water and marine life. She is an ambassador and one of a kind.

Hello RUSS I'm interested in buying that simulator on STEAM A few reasons: I'm going back for diving school, for doing a sport that is softer than bike racing and for the fun of discovering nature under the water as I used to do with snorkeling back in those times. Is your Game still being developed lately? As it seems abandoned! Do you include, all the safety rules of diving as taught in class as decompression etc.... Could you make the game more attractive to enjoy because someone on STEAM said ; Nothing infinite about it. Clunky, any intuitive controls make the game frustrating to play and difficult to enjoy. There are currently only two dive spots, and one of them is locked behind a pay wall, in addition to all the other micro transactions for things like different types of scuba gear. There are a number of diver avatars to choose from, I just hope you are woman though, because there are no male avatars as far as I can tell. I'm a P.A.D.I. certified rescue diver, so I can definitely appreciate what they were going for, but this game needs much more polish and base content before it is actually released. If you are looking for a decent scuba game on Steam, I'd recommend World of Diving. It's a perpetually half finished abandon ware title, but it still has more to offer than Infinite Scuba. For a game that’s priced almost as much as its sub genre competitors (ABZÛ, Depth Hunter 2 and World of Diving), Infinite Scuba doesn’t have nearly as much content or polished details to compare itself or even stand out. Not to mention the chance of softening the blow from the premature implementation of micro transactions in an Early Access title that is obviously far from completion. The game’s developer made some amateurish mistakes which I will describe in detail below. First and foremost among Infinite Scuba’s many sins, has to be the lack of proper diversity as far as the diving locations are concerned. You just have two such places and in a twisted sense of irony, one level has to be unlocked with “clams” (the game’s idea of currency). So indeed, you can visit just one stage if you choose to spend your initial and so far only amount of 500 clams on diving equipment instead of unlocking the americana Reef level. Naturally, I had to make the only smart choice available in this case and I unlocked 50% more “content”. You cannot gain these pesky clams in any way during game play. So I think we can either expect the developer to proceed with his intention of selling the in-game currency at real world money value or take the decent way out of this mess and at least offer a way of gathering some clams through the activities you perform as a diver. But they probably won’t do that since the prospect of earning even more cash than the game’s price tag is too enticing to pass up, right? Bravo, gentlemen! While the Belize level offers just the opportunity to explore a large coral reef, the game’s main location is the Chunk Lagoon from Micronesia where you can delve into an actual historic shipwreck. Sadly, the Gosei Maru cannot be examined as thoroughly as you’d expect since Infinite Scuba’s interior exploration hasn’t been implemented yet. Just like its wonderful clam ! So you may ask, just what exactly CAN you do in this simulator? Well dive, of course. I have to admit that the diving mechanics themselves as well as the information provided (and a pleasant amount of trivia also) gave the impression that the game tries to take itself seriously enough and I wouldn’t be able to rate it any lower than I did. Honestly, I really gave it a fair chance and took nearly a dozen dives. It’s unfortunate that they have to last so little (not even 10 minutes per single dive) and the oxygen tanks seem to have the capacity of a plastic bag. If you don’t move a lot and your depth is just a few meters from the surface, I guess you could prolong the underwater trip but what’s the point of standing still, in a simulator about seafloor exploration? Infinite Scuba actually marked some of my dives as “unsuccessful” since I had less than 500 oxygen units left in the tank by the time I resurfaced. You start out all your dives with 3000 units which rapidly decrease if you swim below 30 meters. The grinding required in order to complete all your tasks, cannot be estimated at a number lower than 25 dives per location. Absurd. The wildlife is nicely detailed and simulated, though there is never enough variety when it comes to larger cartilaginous fish (such as rays and sharks). And I’m certain that no one would risk deep dives just for the sake of fifty different coral shapes and sizes. At least there are also objects scattered on the seabed for you to collect or catalog. You can take pictures of certain areas of interest on the shipwreck and get awarded with in-game achievements (which never result in actual Steam achievements or at least some wonderful clams to unlock new gear). The simulation itself ain’t half-bad even with the mediocre oxygen tank capacity. You can enjoy the game and relax while swimming and exploring but I cannot tolerate this title’s particularly abhorrent form of micro transactions. A malicious practice to gaming in general, in Infinite Scuba this is only made worse since you can’t obtain the so-called clams through simply playing the game and thus there’s no real gain even from grinding the two areas (or just one, if you didn’t spend all the clams on the Belize level). This isn’t a reward system. Just pure greed! Thank you RUSS if you can keep up your initial work on this simulator to keep it alive and taking in consideration the above critics ;)) keep giving us Underwater Sim Dreams! Please ! THX

Hello PROBERevealer, and thanks for the inquiry! Sorry for the slow reply but we've been busy with a couple new releases and several events in the last month. Infinite Scuba is definitely still in development, we just released a new update last month (17 June) to streamline downloads and improve our tutorials, and we continue to work on new features and content. As a small independent game studio we have to carefully allocate our time, so Infinite Scuba sometimes gets put on the the back burner as we work on other projects. For instance, last month we ported our 5-minute VR dive experience in Belize to use the Vive headset, opened an installation at the Pacific Science Center, and released it on Steam. When developing any simulation, you always have to balance realism with playability. We could make a slavishly accurate dive simulator, but then you'd need to be a certified diver to understand what to do and why, and some things just don't translate well to a video game. For example, dive tables and surface intervals aren't very much fun, especially to non-divers. Our goal is to show players what it's like to be in the ocean, so they will want to learn more about it and, hopefully, want to protect it. The last thing we want is to force someone to stop playing for an hour to replicate a surface interval. We actually do include a full bubble-absorption model under the covers. We can implement repetitive dives, or staged dives, deep dives, dives with different gas mixes, etc., and we do try to expose more dive tech/physiology with each release, but we also don't want to scare off non-divers. We do try to make the game as realistic as possible. The dive sites are real-world places hand-modeled to look like the originals, with real wildlife and conditions. All the gear is real, from real manufacturers. We include a "Field Guide" with each site so players can learn more about the local wildlife, environmental issues, people, and history of the area. Great care has been taken to make the water look realistic, to make the light fall off in a realistic fashion as you descend, to add blue-shift to distant objects, to add realistic haloclines and visibilities. We are divers and we want to portray the ocean and its inhabitants accurately. Having said that, we *are* a video game and not training software. We do not want to replace real dive training, and we do encourage people to find a real instructor if they want to dive IRL. If there is a tradeoff between realism and gameplay we tend to lean towards what would be more fun and engaging. This is why we didn't initially expose repetitive dives/nitrogen buildup/gas mixes/DCS. We do have plans to eventually add these features, but given our small development team, everything takes time. The control of the diver has always been a tough nut to crack. The control scheme is pretty standard for games (in fact, they are identical to World of Warcraft, minus strafing since you can't strafe underwater), but for non-gamers they can seem clunky and unintuitive. We are always looking for ways to make this first 5-10 minutes easier - hence the above-mentioned reworking of the tutorials to hopefully make them friendlier and more accessible. (We worked with the University of Washington's Human-Centered Design and Engineering department to help us make these improvements.) As for the cost and in-game store, the game is only $12.99, and you start with enough in-game currency to unlock the second dive site right off the bat. :) We are working on a third, cold-water site at the moment that will include drysuits, but again given the small development team and the hand-modeled, hand-assembled nature of each site, they do take time. We are hoping to have the Pacific Northwest site ready to release by DEMA 2019. :) I hope this addresses your concerns, I appreciate the inquiry, and happy diving!
