I still use the mister twister that I got when I was 10 years old, 35 years ago! It still works great and kicks butt at it job as long as the blade is fairly sharp. The blades are fairly easy and quick to hone back to super sharp. If you clean a lot, buying an extra set or 2 of blades is a good idea and not expensive. MISTER TWISTWER for the win! At least in longevity and price point. I hope they are still made as good as mine was.

Hey Troy! Good to hear your going to give my favorite fishing company a try! I really like the Kastking products. I decided to try the Crixus for my 1st baitcaster to learn with. I put that on a Perigee 2 7' medium rod! I catch alot of fish on Winnebago with this thing! I've casted and slip bobber fished with it, but this thing shines as a dead stick with a drop shot! The price and value of there tools and apparel are just impressive. I just got a new spinning reel Mega Jaws to replace one that broke. Only 1 use, but it was very nice, probably the best reel I have ever used, but I consider myself a walmart fisherman. But for what you do, I would look at those Skeet Reese reels and Kestrel Elite Rods and reels. Thanks for the Reports!

The newer Bubba Pro Series EFK has more than enough power...it's like taking a handheld chainsaw to a fish. I've filleted several large Walleye with this EFK, only takes seconds to get the fillet off of each side.

It is the best knife about NOT cutting through the backbone that I have ever had. It is however very heave for me. I am retired with weak right hand and shoulder problems. I still fillet a couple thousand fish a year. Mostly use small fillet knives 6 inches or less and the Bubba for the larger fish a pound or more.
@ChrisG9978
@ChrisG9978 Ай бұрын
@@tmo4330 It is somewhat bulky...for panfish and crappie it probably doesn't make sense to use 7-inch or larger blades. What I really like about the electric fillet knives is the fact that you just cut behind the gill plate, turn the knife, and go straight through the ribs to the tail, and off comes your fillet. Then you just trim the rib bones off. With a regular fillet knife you have to set the fish upright and cut in from the top-down to go around the rib cage. Just takes a lot more time. You're right though, especially with the flex blades, they run right along that backbone without cutting through it. I have cut through the backbone many times accidentally using normal fillet knives.

I have two of the electric fisherman and have had them for several years and have never had an issue with either of them. I suggest changing blades atleast every season. I just inherited a rapala and I will put it through the test.

I took a chainsaw file and made the mr twister blades fit on the Berkeley 110v, i think the stroke is bigger on the Berkeley bc it runs like butter with the mr twister blades, ive had it going on 10 years done probably 10k crappie and sandbass, and several 20-40 lb catfish with it

Why not just put the stinger on first, then the minnow. Ive literally never taken a stinger off in my jig, ever.
@MrBluegill
@MrBluegill 6 ай бұрын
The stinger hooked below the minnow helps keep the minnow on and makes it more effective. A fish would literally have to tear the minnow off and miss both hooks this way.

I still don't get why people filet bluegills. Crappie I understand, but bluegills have a rather simple bone structure and when cooked whole the bones flavor the meat better. Trick to eating whole bluegill, after frying pull the top dorsal fins out gently and take a fork and rake the backstrap meat off of the spine. If you do it right you can get the rib meat to with little to no bones left

Hey Troy, Thanks for showcasing this new product. I missed this one at the Expo, apparently they were right in front of the seminar room. It was always too busy right there. Anyways, last year I bought a 2 pack of the deep freeze version of these and I was very impressed with what I could do with them. I think my biggest complaint was the price of the receivers at $50 each is a bit steep. I look forward to seeing these on the shelf, hopefully some competition in this market will bring prices down on all these products. I did google this product and have not seen anything come up yet. So I'll be watching! Thanks!

I actually prefer to use 3/4" strips of vet wrap. Sticks to it self, leaves no residue, comes in any color if you like to coordinate, and adds a little padding depending on how much you wrap it.

In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
