Here's the thing: I think fake designs are some of the best parts of any pokemon leaks. I already know going in that anything can be faked if someone is quick enough, and people are lightning fast nowadays. Beta Hilda was one of my favorite non pokemon designs from the leaks. I adore falling in love with "what could've been" designs, and learning some are fake just gives me a new artist to follow. It brings the community together to love something just because we can.

I've always had a really deep interest beta pokemon content as well as things like fake leaks ever since I was a little kid, and I'm also an artist and used to make my own fake pokemon as a kid all the time, doing something like this has been a passing thought through my mind for SO long 😭 I thought about it again when the spaceworld demo leaks came around, when the gigaleak happened, and also when these leaks came out but just couldn't bring myself to do it despite the thought of centro falling for it being really funny in my head. Even though I know to take their posts with a grain of salt and to look for other sources too because... yeah, these ones did fool me for a bit because they really have that placeholder sprite look to them honestly (like the hgss gym leader ones!), congrats on fooling everyone and they're still awesome designs regardless! ^^ And good luck with your TCG art dream also! I'm with you on that one too

Ah interesting. A bit of a shame that it wasn't official, though they are geuninely some really fun designs. I'm not surprised they got spread without any checking considering that some Moncraft designs where just thrown in there and spread without any checking. Though that one was found very quickly. Also just seeing the centro leaks was just funny cause they just kept being like "oops this one is fake oh well". Which is really annoying cause of how hard it is to correct misinformation. Especially cause of people not going back to see what is fake (for good reason, it's a bit odd to just expect something like this to all be fake) went to check cause I didn't realize at first, but been following you for a while. I like your comics.

The crazy thing is, that I still believed that it was a beta sprite, even though I saw a week or so earlier on twitter, some Sugamori sketches of Hilda that showed her in the outfit that was in the game, just with a midriff

Damn, I thought they were real because many other people also posted pictures of those two "beta trainers" and not just Centro, some even before Centro, and also because GF and TPC copyright struck and DMCA'd them and even threatened lawsuits. But I don't think we have any reason to be mad about this or angry because people make mistakes all the time and especially in such a flood of information, information can get mixed up (and I mean that accidental misinformation exists and not everything is intentional, even if people don't believe that accidents exists).

oh my god, you're a genius i've always loved fake pokemon leaks so much over the years, that Serebii page was my favorite thing in the world as a kid lol - as a result, i've always had a bit of a twisted dream of making a fake leak that fools some people, and this was such a great opportunity!
