Is the narrator of this video Canadian ? Canadians are raised to not hate and to embrace diversity (including being taught this in all daycares/schools). People need to look at all sides. India has a 29% unemployment rate amongst it's own graduates. One of the big reasons why young people are leaving India in droves, yes? Plus less than 50% of the 950 million working-age population in India is employed (compared to over 70% in other emerging markets). Amongst the Indian working group, many are self-employed and contain “unpaid helpers in family enterprises”. India has one of the highest emigration rates in the world. As many zero in on education as a way to gain access to a western country? Did international students/families pay into Canadian taxes all their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No. Plus Canada did NOT tell international students/parents to spend/risk their life savings on a "Canadian dream". Canada did NOT tell international students to borrow money. Canada did NOT promise international students work. Canada did NOT promise international students money. Canada did NOT promise international students PERMANENT RESIDENCY. Meanwhile freelance agents have been operating in an unbridled market in India. Often by painting a distorted picture of what students can receive from Canada. Plus in recent years, a new type of recruitment has cropped up via foreign nationals as many "edu-tech" have created online platforms to connect millions of potential students with the recruiters. The sub-agents have absolutely no no direct connection with the Canadian college. Plus the college has no no ability to control their conduct. Indian sham operations abused/abusing Indian students in person &/or via massive advertising. Primarily in their native language that most Canadians do NOT understand. Painting a false picture in their minds (of what Canada could or would or should offer). Canadians are seeing primarily Indians protesting & waving their flags on Canadian streets making demands. Because they may not have enough credentials to remain in Canada? And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires? Why isn't there crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino etc., students making demands? They're in Canada too. And even though Canada is being falsely/unfairly blamed for too much, Canada has yet to deport students like crazy (but likely will soon). Instead Canada has been trying trying to find balance of who can stay vs go. While also trying to fix anything Canada did wrong. Create a better future. Why? Because Canadians actually care about doing so for both Canadians and international students. Canada's own youth are also victims of the above mentioned scam artists now too. Due to a SEVERE lack of homes and SEVERE lack of entry level jobs now partially due to international students swarming the system then fighting for PR etc., versus returning home. Including some students asking for Canadian asylum (which RARELY gives them PR). Questions: ⦁ What is India doing about any of this? After Canada told India to halt Ghost Consulting. Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Schools that Canada is shutting down. ⦁ What about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Promoting Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc.. Videos not only posted hourly but rarely in English or French. With very very rare input from Canadian-born citizens. ⦁ What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? ⦁ What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? ⦁ What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by, and for, foreign nationals? Some home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Often these 'landlords' also cram 20 students in a small home and charge them each way too much for rent. ⦁ What about Indian nationals buying local businesses then repeatedly putting Indians only in the top tier positions (while also changing familiar work practices)? BC & Ontario are also outlawing the Caste System. ⦁ What about the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada? Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) even though it all stems from their ancestral home. Why???????????? ⦁ What about the Canadian government launching investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent? Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border. Canadians are so so so not used to all this!! Do Indians care about Canadians suffering too? Or do they primarily want to point fingers at the Canadian government etc., when many things weren't in Canada's control? Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Now everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this). PS Immigration being decreased in: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, The Maritimes, Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba.

I usually don’t react to comments like this, but a recent conversation compelled me to respond. There's a tendency in the West-maybe a sense of entitlement or privilege-that seems to distance some people from harsh realities. Let’s dive into it. Yes, unemployment in India is a concern, and I won’t argue with that. However, what many don't realize is that the richest 1% in India, around 14 million people, is nearly half of Canada’s entire population. The narrative around India’s employment situation is often skewed by biased news and statistics, leading to a misinformed perspective. This happened to me when I moved to the UK; no media would talk positively about India, yet when I returned, everything seemed fine according to Indian media. The reality is, those who are unemployed in India aren't necessarily leaving the country-they can't afford the exorbitant costs associated with studying abroad. Since you're aware of unemployment rates, you should also consider GDP per capita and the broader issue of poverty. The Indian education system is different from what you might be familiar with. In India, students don’t typically secure jobs immediately after a 3-year degree; instead, many pursue master’s degrees or other professional courses before entering the job market. This cultural difference might explain the higher unemployment rates you’ve heard about. It's important to note that it's not just the unemployed who leave India; it's often those with established careers who move abroad for better opportunities. Yes, marketing and the portrayal of expats living beautiful lives abroad play a role, but there are many other factors at play, including peer and social pressure. On the topic of taxes, it's crucial to differentiate between the taxes paid by students and those paid by their families. You can’t lump them together. In Canada, even if someone doesn't have children, they still pay taxes. When it comes to indirect taxes, both domestic and international students are on equal footing. This isn’t about parity; it’s about making money. Canada did indeed promote the "Canadian dream," and many provinces continue to do so. Whether or not you trust the statistics or the media, the reality is that Canada NEEDS immigrants. RCICs, immigration agencies, and immigration lawyers have been actively selling this dream. The influx of international students isn't just about education-it's about bolstering Canada’s workforce in areas where there are significant shortages, such as healthcare and tech. The issue of unregulated agents in India misleading students is a concern, but the responsibility doesn’t lie solely with them. Canada’s policies are designed to attract international students, and if you're concerned about the consequences, perhaps the solution is to stop accepting international students altogether. But that’s not an option, is it? If you did, many colleges would shut down, and that would first impact your healthcare and tech industries, followed by others. When it comes to international students protesting, it’s not about making demands-they’re asking for what they paid for. If a student was admitted to a college after paying their fees and was eligible for a PGWP, you can’t just take that away. If these colleges were shams, why were they allowed to operate in the first place? The authorities have a responsibility to ensure that students get what they were promised. As for the claim that international students are causing a housing and job crisis, it’s important to look at the bigger picture. In 2022 alone, international students contributed $20-30 billion to the economy. The decision to allow students to work full-time while on a study permit wasn’t made by students; it was a government decision, likely due to a shortage of workers. Regarding asylum seekers and terrorism, the situation is deeply concerning. Canada has taken in individuals who are not just refugees but also extremists. Over decades, your government has allowed a significant percentage of these individuals to establish themselves in your country, creating an environment ripe for violence. It’s crucial to remember that a terrorist is a terrorist, regardless of their origins. Canada’s government pulled in these individuals for votes, and now you’re facing the consequences. This isn’t an issue Indians can resolve for you-it's rooted in Canadian government policies. Lastly, the issues of diploma mills and the presence of international students from India existed before the influx of Indian students. If you believe closing down these schools is the answer, then go ahead. But the reality is that more institutions will shut down without the financial support from international students. In conclusion, it’s essential to understand the complexities behind these issues before placing blame. International students aren't the cause of Canada’s problems-they're part of the solution. Let’s focus on finding ways to address these challenges together rather than pointing fingers.
