This restoration is first rate. Your prep and primer work yielded BIG dividends when you applied the paint!! Gorgeous outcome!! Do you find these earlier Hotwheels are better casting than the later, more modern versions?? Again, beautiful work, Dave!!❤❤ Best, Stephen

Thank you!! Honest answer: I really love the older castings. Compared to the new castings, I connect a lot more with the older ones. That is probably because I remember having them as a child. I loved playing with little cars. I had a book bag full of them. They went almost everyone I did. All that being said, I find the new castings are fun in a different way. When I look at the new stuff, I try to imagine what style of that casting I would have most wanted. Then, I try to recreate that. Thank you for the question!!

This guy is doing things the opposite of Gaslands players. Why restore when you can butcher hotwheels?

I dig restorations. Garlands are fun though too.

That was my first car my Grandmother bought for me. At a pet store in Chicago. The owner had the cars in a round carousel. On the table you pick out the one you wanted. He would give it too you in a box . Thanks for letting me see that car again.

Do you ever take something like this further, like dropping black ink i the panel lines or looking up the actual cars to see what might have had some extra details going on?
@COMMONDAVE419Ай бұрын
Yes indeed. Most of the time I look them up. This one I took inspiration from the LP500. Also have to remember this is just a toy Car. Sometimes I have plans to go much further but when I get to a point I'm happy with I stop. I hope you enjoyed!! Thank you for the comment.

Sir, I would like to share my pleasure of watching your great skills in 1/64 restoration. And you painted this Countache the most hard colour. Yellow. I can’t believe my eyes seeing the final result. All yellow cars from factory are ugly. I can see green and black stripes under the yellow. Never bought. You made me believe that yellow is fine. When the master is doing the job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
