Here's something nobody tells you about creatine; it raises your blood pressure.

It doesn’t

@bcguerilla50963 ай бұрын
@@shawnsmith424 lol ok lemme elaborate on what I’m saying. It’s been shown to raise bp like 8-10 pts. Which is NOTHING for most people, but if you’re already pre-hypertension, that could be enough to push you over the edge. I didn’t say it’s not worth it and it’s dangerous and all that, but if your bp doesn’t come up slightly from the extra work on your kidneys to process it, then you don’t have a pulse.
@DewarSon3 ай бұрын
@@ThomasAshcroft... Correct. The increased water-retention is what can contribute to the increased blood-pressure. And, as you also stated, the opposite is also true; it can aid in decreased bp in some.

Creatine works for me quite well. The problem is no matter what I do it makes my stomach feel gross after taking it.

Do you take it plain?
@natehunt24544 ай бұрын
@@ThomasAshcroft I've tried with just water and for some reason it's worse. However taking with whey in milk helps quite a lot. It still makes my stomach feel a bit weird, sort of like it's filled with air but super hungry with slight nausea.

@@natehunt2454 Try Kre-Alkalyn. It's buffered, alkaline creatine that absorbs very well and works just the same as monohydrate, without any of the stomach discomfort.

@@robocop4209 thank you for the recommendation. I have not tried anything other than the monohydrate form because that is what most of the studies have used and I fear to venture away from what is most researched. I might give it a try though.
@TorBoy94 ай бұрын
I take creatine monohydrate to improve my strength training and recovery, and have seen positive results. While I'd like to see further creatine research into the benefits of creatine on the brain and with aging, I do not think we are there right now. More study has to be done before we can declare such benefits. Still, I am hopeful.

Should you take a break every 3 months? I've read that the bodys own production will decrease while taking creatine, so in order to restore the own production, they recommended a break from creatine every 3 months of taking it consistently.
@ThomasAshcroft5 ай бұрын
No it’s safe to take year round. Creatine comes from food not produced in the body.
@VeinyPathwayPassion5 ай бұрын
@@ThomasAshcroft It's also produced in the body naturally, but for many people at a lower dose than optimal. Some are non responders because they have a high body production of creatine and/or eat lots of kreatin rich food.
