NCL gives nothing for nothing. I have a cruise booked with the Free at Sea. I called to ask a question about the More at Sea. The rep repriced my cruise with the MAS and it was $400.00 more than my booking. Thanks but no thanks.

We had cruised with NCL 7 times so far. I just did a mock booking of the 11 day cruise we booked a few mouth ago for Aug, 2025. The previous free-at-sea dining package gives you 2 meals at the specialty restaurants. The charge was only the service fee of $39.60 for two of us. Now the More-at-sea dining package for 4 meals at the specialty restaurants is $160 for 2, not the service fee. They basically charge you $20 per meal per person!! The itemized charge now says dining package, not service fee. Wifi for the free-at-sea was never unlimited. It was only 250 minutes total for 1 device connected at a time. Now it is 150 minutes for 2 devices. Ok, it is 50 minutes total more than before. For free-at-sea drink package, they charge you $400+ for service charge. Now with more-at-sea, they charge over $700 for the drink package for the 11 day cruise. Shore excursion credit is the same. So, I am not sure more-at-sea is you getting more for your $, or you pay more for the extras.

The Free At Sea PLUS package is being eliminated so you'll have to add the coffee card or pay for it ala carte. And no more credit for the unlimited WiFi, you will be paying full price for it. You used to be credited for the Free at Sea WiFi and pay the difference. That changes with "More at Sea.'

We've had nothing but great times on Princess the past few years and about to go on Sun Princess in a month. Hundreds of clients have sailed Princess this year alone and so far, all is well. So sorry you didn't enjoy your last experience, but we're still very much enjoying everything Princess has to offer. We are starting to sail more luxury lines though and getting spoiled by those. Azamara is next!

If you can’t get a full view, why do they make balcony staterooms on that level of the ship? They should make ocean view staterooms with port hole windows. Why do they charge you a higher price than an ocean view if you can’t see the water in full scope?

Obstructed balconies have been around pretty much from the first balconies on cruise ships. :)

I won’t blast a ship for not having enough life boats , I commend them for having anything beyond life vest . There are far more commercial planes traveling way more miles daily than ships. Number of parachutes available for passengers? Zero. If Plan A fails it’s over .

I was on the islander on 9/6-9/10. They had this yummy appetizer, and I asked the dining room supervisor if I could have seconds. He said that normally there is a charge, but for me, he gave it to me free of charge😁😁. I only did it once. I'm going back again. I wasn't happy because my friend brought her 4-year-old out-of-control child on the cruise. Next year I am going by myself at least I will have peace and quiet.

I got an understanding from other videos that it''s a good idea to go during school season avoid children and for five or more days avoiding young "adults" on long weekend cruises who go all out until they pass out.

Anytime you cruise during school year you'll have fewer kids and those who are onboard will usually be preschool or home schooled. 3 and 4 day cruises are predominately party cruises no matter the age of the guest. Anything 7 nights or longer are usually more laid back.

You can book Izumi pre-cruise or once onboard. You'll have a better selection of times if you pre-book.

Many thanks for explaining this. One question I have if I may? So you book a cruise, do the passengers booking the more expensive cabins or suites get allocated to a Lifeboat/Rescue Vessel while the people paying less get muster points for life rafts.... Just curious.

Muster stations are not set by the type of stateroom, just the area of the ship. The type of rescue craft used is based on that area.

About a 10 minute walk from the cruise pier. Just google "That Yoda Guy" and you'll see where it is. About 2 or 3 blocks back from where you enter and to the right. Easy walk and very cool.

You can certainly ask. VV is a very social ship, get to know your sailors and have some fun. Or you can do the public karaoke in the Social Club Diner most evenings.

Great live! Sorry to miss it but glad to catch the replay… You said why Virgin in Alaska when there are so many others? My take: no kids & lots of vegetarian food!!!! The scenery is the best part of Alaska regardless of port. Wish I was there now! 😉 Definitely curious to see how VV handles it though.

3 hours is not normal. Typically a meal at Sabatini's is between 90 minutes and 2 hours. We still don't know exactly what happened, but the way the dining captain made it up to us was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely try Sabatini's again in the future.

Call BS!!!! Travel insurance will almost certainly deny any and all claims!!! I know cause it happened to me, finally after a year, yes a whole year, they paid 60%.

I'm sorry it happened to you, but our clients who have filed claims with Allianz have had them handled within a matter of weeks. We never cruise without travel insurance.

On Sky Princess it was the wine bar across from the International Cafe. During the day the bar is not open and it's a great spot to sit and work.

Thank you so much for your information. I am interested in travel insurance for a cruise to Alaska. I feel that our own medical insurance will cover us because we are American citizens and Alaska is obviously part of the United States. Does that sound reasonable and would it also cover treatment on the ship (princess cruises) ? I am mainly concerned about insurance in case we miss debarkation day or miss the ship in port. What is your experience with insurance for this loss? I’m having a hard time finding it. Thank so again!!

Your medical insurance may or may not cover you on the ship because it will go into international waters during the journey. You need to check your medical coverage to ensure it covers you if you are injured outside of the United States. For missing the ship, that's travel insurance as described in the video. Allianz and Travel Insured are two companies to consider.

@@WheresWalterTravelthank you for your info. Good point about international waters. We did get travel insurance so that will give me peace of mind as medical is a standard provision. As to missing debarkation, it’s a one way cruise and we will fly in a day or 2 before so I am not so worried about that and our travel policy will cover it. The head scratcher was finding insurance for missing the ship in a port of call. That was trickier and not all scenarios are insurable, at least from what I found. I got CFAR and interruption for any reason but still not 100% sure it will pay to get us to the next port of call if that happens.

My wife and I were recently on the Carnival Elation and had a fantastic time but..... the food wasn't near as good as what we had on the MSC Seascape and Seashore. Two totally different feels on these ships. Carnival entertainment is hands down better than MSC but we found the food was hands down better on MSC. We actually thought service and food was consistent on MSC.
