Absolutely lovely footage. I've not been up there in a while. I took my own drone up near the wind turbines and Knowl Hill a couple of years ago. I normally walk up there from Walmersley Road, walking up that footpath that takes you up the right hand side of Fletcher Bank Quarry, and then following the Rossendale Way up past Waugh's Well and on to the Pennine Bridle Way, and eventually on to Rooley Moor Road down towards Rochdale. It's mostly all uphill until you hit the bridle Way ,and you really need a good few hours free. Some nice weather is a bonus. I've been up there when it's been snowing, and it can be bitterly cold!

Like a Fookin 'Hitchcock' Movie ! I have worked in Bacup, there are some Lovely Folk there who would never dare to venture into a Bacup town centre pub! Why? Have you seen the film 'Deliverance' ? In my previous career, I was on contract for 9 months working in Burnley! I travelled through BACUP every day to and from work in Burnley, I only stopped once to rescue a 'Mallard' that had hit a tree and fell in the road, and thankfully he was saved. But the 'Lairy Scum ' that frequent the Town Centre Pubs and stand outside gesturing to passing pedestrians and motorists, would put anyone off! Dark, dismal , depressing! And (unfortunately for the good folk) The Senseless murder of 'Sophie Lancaster' in Bacup, casts a massive shadow over that town! dx

I lived in Bacup town centre for almost 15 years & have moved recently to Stacksteads just a mile down the road & I do agree on the 'Lairy Scum ' that frequent the Town Centre Pubs and stand outside gesturing to passing pedestrians' The things I have heard in the small hours of the morning getting shouted at high volumes by these 'lairy scum'..........Lairy... nice word btw! Oy yer effin smackhead... also two young women offering me sex outside the charity shop at 4 am.........nice...not! Apart from all that I really love Bacup!

Amazing footage!! That looks like a big (do you know what type?) fish she gulped here! The fish was fighting, still, did the determined Heron swallow that whole prey alive?! I wonder if the poor thing stands any chance of survival/escaping if eaten in that condition too? Maybe it has a chance to turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach??

I have read that the Heron secretes some chemical or scent into the water to attract fish from its feet.
