I think Gary sounds more like Freddie because of power in his voice. Marc Martel's has similar timbre of voice, but he trying to sing "technically correct"

He sounded better a short while after especially in 2009. His last perfect year was 2012. After that his voice was getting damaged and he is aging but still he has the closest voice to to freddie. :)

He is a great singer but the timbre of his voice just isn't too similar to Freddie.I know that's not his fault and just singing like him is an amazing achievement but now I've seen that mark guy ( can't remember his name) on KZbin the bar has been set very high

This guy sound like Freddie mercury on stage just with the high notes.. But the low notes he don't sound like him. If u compare with Marc Martel, Marc sound like Freddie in low notes principally but he have the high notes too

Interestingly enough, the voice of Freddie Mercury after 1984 is easier to imitate than the voice of Freddie Mercury before 1980.
