@cfwildlifephotography41435 ай бұрын
Hey Sonia, thanks for the feedback. I generally prefer to keep the clips without music to highlight the natural sounds, which I really enjoy. However, when there are distracting noises like cars, wind, or people talking, I add music to improve the experience. If you have specific moments where you would have preferred to hear the natural sounds, please let me know!

Excellent video. I cued up 5 more of your videos after this one. I appreciate you sharing your adventures. Btw, that last male looks like the big mbiri male. He and his bro are always with the huge Birmingham pride with the 2 white females(one being a cub). What a fortunate last minute sighting for you! I only know this from watching videos shared by local people like yourself so thank you.
@cfwildlifephotography41436 ай бұрын
Thanks for the the support Timopo :) You're absolutely right, he is indeed one of the Mbiri males. Interestingly, many people assume his lip injury impairs his normal functioning, but he and his brother remain an incredible force to be reckoned with. There's footage of them bringing down another male lion about three months ago - it was brutal, but that's nature for you. It's always a privilege to witness such powerful lions in action

Why did you have to use a spotlight on the civet?
@cfwildlifephotography41436 ай бұрын
The light came from another guest in camp. As long as the light doesn't shine directly into their eyes, it doesn't significantly affect nocturnal animals. There's ample evidence to support this. However, it's crucial never to shine a light on diurnal animals at night, as it can temporarily blind them and leave them vulnerable. In this case, the Civet was free to move away from us, which it did several times whenever there was too much attention focused on it.

Great sightings. What video settings did you use to capture the lions and vultures at the buffalo carcass or did you slow down the action in post processing? I see you used a monopod in your vehicle, is it not cumbersome when you need to move the camera and lens around in the vehicle?
@cfwildlifephotography41437 ай бұрын
Hello Izak! Regarding the lions and vultures footage, I shot it in Full HD at 120 frames per second and then slowed it down during post-processing. As for my gear setup, I often switch between the monopod and my reliable beanbag depending on where the sighting is located relative to the vehicle. While I find the monopod quite user-friendly, I generally prefer the stability that the beanbags offer over the monopod
@izakgreyling88727 ай бұрын
@@cfwildlifephotography4143 thank you for responding. In which mode do you shoot video? The monopod will definitely help to stabilize a big lens when photographing animals or birds from the driver's side which are on the passenger side of the vehicle. Do you think adding a monopod head will help with maneuvaribility of the lens?

Great Episode Christo, I've been conteplating to visit Manyeleti for a while now. The uncontrolled animal poaching in that area is discouraging, I really don't like watching animal suffer due to human.
@cfwildlifephotography41437 ай бұрын
Haai Xipandza, I've been to the Manyeleti a few times now and the sightings never disappoint. It is true that poaching is a big problem, but for me this is why the Greater Kruger is so important, if you see the massive community bordering the area around Manyeleti its easy to see why they have such a big problem. They are definitely the 1st line of defense to protect areas such as the Kruger, and really need all the help they can get. If I take areas in the Kruger especially North it is also a continues struggle. There is really some horrific stories. On one trip at Punda we came across a buffalo carcass, and after 5 days not one animal came to scavenge, this is when me and one of the Rangers in the area started talking. It broke my hart to hear how prides of lions are poisoned and killed for the traditional market. So yeah it is never easy to see how animals suffer but unfortunately it is a difficult truth that we have to face, and with an ever growing human population in a country where unemployment is sky high people are forced to result to poaching for survival, so I dont see how it can get any better without people actually starting to realize the seriousness of the situation
@jackieboshoff20138 ай бұрын
Nice Christo!
@cfwildlifephotography41437 ай бұрын

Haai Buffie, when it is this dry this waterhole is one of the few water sources that will have water due to it being pumped with water by the lodge. But this usually means a lot of animals hanging around the lodge which attracts the predators
