Another beautiful build you did. Thank you for sharing. You mentioned the use of the FanRC shock, 0.71 front and 1.02 rear.... Are these the same length as the kit shocks? Or was it necessary to go bigger because of the Xtreme shock towers? And where did you find the narrow front wheel hubs? Size? Cheers.

Go Team Roof Scoop! For the JC Racing Extended re-re front driveshafts on your runner, wondering if you had to get longer turnbuckles? I'll find out when they arrive :D I swapped out the Yeah steering block, back to stock, with an Unfair ackerman plate. I had to shave a little off the corners of the diff cover to clearance the screws, but works great. Fixed a good bit of slop from the servo saver post and plate. I've had lots of little clearance issues with Yeah's aluminum bits, so back to stock. Speaking of diff covers, as I understand it, the diff covers are a wear item if you're running a top deck. I'm running a Factory Works JJ top deck, and no cracks after two packs.
@Rc-vintage2 күн бұрын
@brannmitchell4602 no need for longer turnbuckles, they factory lengths work fine. I'll probably do that steering mod as well since it incorporates bearings. So far so good with most of the YR stuff, I haven't had much of an issue.

1.02 shocks on the rear will allow the rear suspension to travel up too far and bind the bones in the outdrives. 1.32's will stop the suspension before that happens. Use internal limiters to manage droop (you'll need a good amount with 1.32 shafts) or go with 1.02 shafts in the 1.32 bodies. You may still need limiters but it'll be less.

Hi there, I just came across your channel after looking for some RC10 team car setup ideas. BTW, great content, useful tips and insights. 👍 I run an 870c here in Japan on indoor carpet. Out of the box, the 870c isn't great, so I've been through several setups over the past year. Currently I'm running the EXO design conversion kit, including chassis, arms, braces etc. The kit relocates the battery for better weight distribution. I installed YZ-4 big bores and so far haven't had any issues with the spacers. I'm still running the stock universals, but widened the stance a little by installing a second set of thicker rear hubs on the front. Traction rolling hasn't been a problem. A common mod here is to drill two new mounting holds on the bumper to allow it to be installed further back. It lessens the chance of it catching during jumps. The 870c is a great buggy with the right mods. I had planned to take mine further, but as I couldn't resist getting the Works '91 I will probably focus on that for the 2025 race season. 😊
@Rc-vintage5 күн бұрын
@KaiCityRC I've been a big fan of your channel! I'm going to do the bumper mod as it helps eliminate scrub on the face of the jumps. I'll probably retire my 870 as I just got my 91 works as well and want to start setting that up. BTW I'm pretty jealous of the MX4 forever, beautiful car!
@KaiCityRC4 күн бұрын
@@Rc-vintage Thanks! 😊 I was very lucky to get my hands on the MX-4. It is one of only a few shelf queens I keep and has taken pride of place in my collection. The Works '91 seems to be the better starting platform for high grip surfaces. I think a lot of mods will carry over too. I hope to participate with it in this year's GFCC and once again race against Masami! 😁

The hinge pin brace wasn't used with the RPM Worlds arms. I don't know if JC Racing factored it into theirs. I usually put the brace above the pins where the 10t body mount attaches. Probably doesn't do anything, but....😄 Your rear axles length (pin engagement) may be do to the hubs. They look like the standard rc10 hubs. The RPM hubs, the hinge pin is centered between the axle bearing so you can use a standard RC10 uni. The JC Racing hub is like the AE hub, and is offset to the outside. JC Racing makes slightly longer universals to correct that. You may be fine though, it's hard to tell the max amount of droop you are getting in the video.
@Rc-vintage5 күн бұрын
Thanks Jason! I'll move the hinge pin brace up as mentioned. I did order the rpm rear hubs from Facrtory works so I'll see how that works as they were sold out of the extended 1.5 UJs

great tips on the build and real world costings $$$ as this is a real world issue these days ,last time we talked was with surpass rocket v5/v6 motors as i was allways told they first only made parts for the top brands like end cans for ?? or stators for ?? rotors for ??for big name brands ,so one day they just put all the parts as one and started suppling there own motors with out the big name or cost , we tested them on dyno and they made the same power as those big name brands at 1/2 the price so win win , few qustions whats the metal bar on rc10t front tower mount ?? and also how much longer are the arms over fan rc arms with the norrow mounts/chassis , and are they fan rc drive shaft as i thought they would be longer too match longer arms or am i missing somthing with my thinking ??

Wish I has a local track to put these Schumacher, Kyosho, Yokomo, and associated re-releases on the track. The Fan RC Graphite is a home run IMO especially the new blue edition which has been catching my eye. I really like the take no prisoners approach with the Yokomo. That particular Dragon Punch chassis/tower set is a copy of the Composite Craft Worlds chassis sets from 93-ish. It was designed to use the RPM Worlds conversion parts for the RC10 and their Ultra Molded chassis. They are what the JC Racing parts are modeled after. The 10t hinge pins will work. 1.02 front shocks, 1.32 rears. You'll need to add some limiters to the front shocks, the Worlds tower is shorter than the 10t tower. Other than that, it should be a fairly straight forward build. Have fun! I'm currently working on an original Composite Craft Worlds myself. Hoping to race it in April.

Beautiful car. I basically set mine up exactly the same before seeing your video, ran it at the vintage off road nationals back in August 24’ and will be running it at the JConcepts Vintage Clash of Champions in March. I didn’t use the Yeah Racing C blocks but used the Yeah Racing hubs front and rear. I also used the Exo chassis conversion, long front shaft conversion and that suspension bridge after mine (originally set up like yours) snapped an arm at the suspension hole. Schumacher has some nice extended length pinions that put the set screw way further back onto the motor shaft so you’ll never have an issue. Other thoughts, I think you have your front and rear wheel hubs sealed, they should be thicker in the front and thinner in the rear. This will also give you even more track width with the outer hole front conversion. Did you have issues with your front hub bearings dying after just a few races? Mine completely grenaded. Going to upgrade with AVID.
