I wouldn't want to speak for anyone else but my personal experience watching the first Joker movie was that it's a tragedy. It's the story of a man who had the potential for good, but thought the lack of mental health funding and support becomes the villain. I understood the ending as being a devastating moment. Where Arthur is infected with everything he wanted to reject. His acceptance of this gives authority to the public of Gotham to cheer their own evils. I have not seen the sequel as I was out off by the negative reception

i knew it from the first movie our society isnt right glorifying how a victim become a madman (hence the 1B usd box office) and this one confirms me, how come we come to this?do we really need someone crazy like Joker?of course not, we as normal person would terrified, and our normal behaviour just like the guard beating up Arthur almost to death because we as a normal person never want a person like that yet, we never think the consequence of it it is a sad meta-movie if you think about it

I really loved the movie! I was afraid it's gonna be another DC/Marvel superhero villain story because Joker is so popular. This movie managed to portrait the love (obv hella toxic) between Harley and Joker in the best way. They are just infatuated with eachother without seeing eachother. The musical makes it so much creepier and unsettling, seeing how he tries to dissacosiate from the whole life. Agree that more things could have happened in the movie and court proceedings is not the most exciting thing either, but maybe that was part of it? To show how unfair, slow, and dehumanising the "justice" process is? Love the video btw!🎉

I agree with you I thought this movie was over hated, and the longer I sit with it the more I actually appreciate it for what it is. It probably was too much music though and it is very long. Not a bad movie at all.

Thank you so much for this because I have yet to see someone else understand that the movie isn't about any known iteration of the joker in the dc universe it's about Arthur Fleck, a mentally ill and stunted man grappling with the abuse he suffered and the crimes he committed. Everyone who expected him to turn into this mastermind joker hasn't watched and/or understood the first movie. He doesn't really want to be joker, he just wants people to respect him and accept him, to not be an outcast. He had a naive fantasy about achieving that thru the joker persona. Arthur Fleck was set up for failure the moment the masses gave him a name and set expectations at the end of the first movie. It's about a naive broken man that was failed by his parents, social services, and yeah society (government and community), pushed to the brink. The songs could have been better used and more sparse, and the r*pe scene was abhorrent and entirely misused and misplaced but there's nothing we can change now. All in all it's a perfectly fine movie. So the DC bros with zero reading comprehension skills crying about not getting the joker they wanted got what they fkin deserved

I feel like a lot of people are jumping the gun on Yasuke. I can understand both sides "they just want to half ass represent." or "assassins creed was never historically accurate." I want to see what they do with the charicter and his story. I think the issue that most people have is the lack of historical wrighting about him as a person in history. I think its a good charicter for assassins creed, were the main charicter isn't Supposed to be Well Known
