Hello Elena, Your work is unreal. I've been cross stitching for years, and I finally decided to give one of the Chatelaine designs a go. I am almost done with the Butterfly Lace design and am really dying to finish. Getting kind of burnt out. Do you have any pictures of the BACK of your Chatelaine works? I'm curious as to how a pro like you does on the back. I found it very hard to keep it neat. Please let me know if you have something to share. Thank you.
@stitchingpharmer2 ай бұрын
I’ll try to remember to show my back of work next time I film. It’s not pretty though 😂 but that’s ok. It can be hard to stay motivated because they’re such large projects. I just try to put some stitches in a few times per month.

Yay! So nice to spend some time this afternoon watching your video. I love all your works! I’m a big fan of Mirabilia and Chatelaine but after watching this I’m tempted to look for a Dimensions… the Christmas shop is beautiful!!!

Lovely to see what you've been working on. As far as having room when my fabric is in my Millenium frame, I just sew a length of scrap sewing fabric to the top and bottom of my linen. That way I don't have to have huge margins on my linen, and can easily access areas closer to the edges ( I do a 2 inch border max). No need to sew a loop into the extra fabric, just insert it into the ridge as you would the linen! I find the only problem this type of frame is that you have to take the whole thing apart to roll the linen up and down.
@stitchingpharmer2 ай бұрын
@@stychaddict4499 that’s a good idea and easier. I’ll try that instead. Thanks!

What size rods did you stitch this on.Can you recommend the best frame and rods to stitch these on?
@stitchingpharmer4 ай бұрын
I use quantum frames by Omanik. Lindy stitches sells them in her shop online if you’re in the US. I like to use the 80 cm by 20 cm. I’m not sure if that size works for all mandalas but that’s what I’m using for fairy flower garden
@stitchykate4 ай бұрын
Your stitching is beautiful! I'm finishing up a portion of the winter fairy chatelaine banner and was considering starting a mandala. I've been putting it off because I was worried about getting bored with the repetition, but you've convinced me, it's time!

To extend your fabric in the scroll frame by sewing some quilting cotton to the end of the aida. If additional fabric is about 3" wide, consider folding it in half before attaching to the aida. That way the quilting fabric forms a tube which you can slip the dowel of scroll rod into. This should make it easier to get the aida straight on the scroll frame. The stocking is so pretty.
@stitchingpharmer4 ай бұрын
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to try it when I get down to the bottom of my stocking. Dimensions is stingy with their fabric

Well, Elena, you just cost me a fortune! I’ve been looking for something a bit more challenging than cross stitch and the Sparkling Peacocks Chatelaine is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s gonna be several months before the kit ships, but it’ll be well worth the wait. Thank you for opening the door to a new stitching journey. Also, which frame do you use?

They are such a joy to stitch! So glad you took the dive and ordered one. I use the Quantum frames by Omanik. If you're in the US you can order them through Hobby House Needleworks or Lindy Stitches. They're pricey but I love them. Happy stitching!

I'm always willing to try something new. But looks like they're stitched on linen only. Can they be done on Aida?
@stitchingpharmer5 ай бұрын
I think it would be difficult to stitch on Aida. You would have to pierce the fabric quite a bit to do a lot of the specialty stitches and some designs also have over one. I think linen or an evenweave is a better choice for Chatelaines.
@RamonaGarror5 ай бұрын
Thank you. I'm venturing out now on linen and evenweave. Soon as I feel a little more confident, I'm definitely trying one of these designs. They are just gorgeous.
