Amazing that the glacier in Mount St. Helens' crater is growing, and it's one of the fastest-growing glaciers in the world! “Climate Change” (Global Warming). Doesn’t work like that! Transcend the Bullshit!

You can’t put a happy face on the release of Grizzlies….. this is both highly dangerous and irresponsible. These, huge and dangerous animals are magnificent but have no place around human populations. The bears don’t recognize boundaries and once they come into contact with humans…. who will be responsible for the fatalities!!!

They, and other critters have been slowly working their way south for decades. Hell, we even got a pic of a wolverine headed down as well. Then there was the recent pic of a moose in Mt Rainier NP. Sometimes its better to let nature work this stuff out. Everyone step back and take a breath….especially you experts.

Sorry...but I do not buy into this concept of distributing large, dangerous to humans carnivores. Let Nature take it's course...we do not need a more cautious "petting zoo" environment for the many hundreds of hikers to deal with.

People keep moving into bear country and then demanding there be no bears there. I lived in the Kenai Peninsula area in Alaska in the 80’s and when your in those areas you learn to live together with bears. If you want to live in areas without bears, move to New York City. We need to preserve wild areas.
@morrisonreed1 Жыл бұрын
@@kevinclark1842 I cant recommend moving to NYC at the moment but you have a point . If we cant make cities more livable then there will be a constant exodus from the cities .

Millions of people recreate in North American Grizzly/Brown Bear country annually, with an average of less than 2 fatal attacks per year. Certainly one must take the necessary precautions and be cognizant of the risks, but it is hyperbolic to call it a "no go zone for humans."
@morrisonreed1 Жыл бұрын
@@recurrenTopology it could be called hyperbolic or common sense .it all depends on how much you like risks .Please show the data on millions in grizzly country annually .Show data that indicates people recreating overnight in tents , not driving through Yellowstone or Denali .

Great question! We have a couple options. If you visit this page: wnpf.org/our-priorities/parks-we-support/ above each park map has a link to volunteer in the park, depending on where you want to go. If you're looking for something immediate, you're in luck! This weekend is National Public Lands Day and there are volunteer events happening in the parks. I was just attacked by a grizzly in river bend campground near harts pass and Mazama. Thanks for not putting bear boxes in the campground. Thanks for putting them there and nearly costing my life. Thanks for the 65yo ranger with purple hair that looks like she's never picked up a saw in her life. Thanks fpr putting up all those no firearms signs in a forest you're allowed to hunt in but not apparently allowed to defend your own life. Thanks for recreating the wolf disaster the state created near Yellowstone and various parts of the western US. Thanks for ruining public land and trying to keep us off land you steal our money to pay for. The next time a griz comes near me or my wife and swipes at me to kill me (getting within 2ft of my head) I will not hesitate to kill that dragon as fast as possible. You are creating an incentive for people to break the law by giving us no legal avenue to defend ourselves on land that WE OWN. NOT THE GOVERNMENT. I shouldn't be surprised you create an incentive to break the law, look at Seattle. Thats how you all govern. I hope you get attacked like I did. You deserve it.

Not to take away from your achievements, but the actual summit of Mt. Storm King is a lot farther up the ridge from where the trail ends and almost 2000 feet higher. It is also usually summited from the Lake Sutherland side due to how technical it is from the ridge coming up from Lake Crescent. In fact it's considered a pretty difficult peak to climb with high exposure and class 4 sections of climbing. The amount of people who actually have climbed it is from what I hear extremely low. Anyway correct me if I'm wrong about any of this and that if you actually did go to the true summit.
