BRILLIANT!! I love how they let us see the closeup of his fingers. I was always so blown away by his technique as well as his musicality

Maestro? What a smooth player ! I love his playing. God bless this talent.

A great player RIP and a leftie like so many of the great players. He's playing a right-handed flute, but you can reach all the keys you need for any Irish tune in a sensible key. Also on his right, there is a fantastic Gaelic singer called Darrach O'Cathain. Search for him singing oro se do bheatha bhaile

Why is he rushing so much? Ignoring the tempo signs...
@xpente5701 Жыл бұрын
He isn’t really rushing considering there are no actual tempos written in. He’s playing a lot of sections more ad lib, a technique seen a lot in romantic solos

Thank God. There are so many wannabes and randos on YT with their slick graphics, their rings light, their perky delivery...and their barely average musicianship. This is the only Bass Flute video worth anything. Played by the master! Thank you!

Never heard Rampal playing neither jazz, nor a low-pitched flute, but here he still proves to be at home also in playing both at the same time.

I would like to play the first tune on my flute but it is impossible. He only takes his first breath around 8 seconds in. Does not sound much but try it.
