Gorgeous, healing music and words! Very different but also wonderful is Melanie DeMore's powerful "Lead with Love"-- a hopeful song for this election!

What is mom's native tongue? To my American ears, she nearly doesn't have an accent at all, I wouldn't even be able to guess that she is from India.

Poor mix. I see Shely asking the sound engineer to turn her up, but I still can’t hear it in this recording (maybe with the external speaker it would be better…?) This is a powerful/ dramatic song. I’ve never seen Shely do this before..” in blue lights…”👍🏾❤️👀😸

I've made this half a dozen times with regular lentils in an American grocery store. I feel like she's my auntie now. Awesome recipe. Gave me confidence for sure! I've even forgotten cilantro and ginger and it's amazing.

I accidently made daal because I know lentils and potatoes make a complete protein. I usually make lentils in a rice cooker but my sister's rice cooker was a pressure cooker. I put 1 part red lentil to 4 parts water after wrinsing and set the pressure cooker to "rice". I microwaved 2 potatoes for 7 minutes after washing. When the lentils were done it looked like a soup so I thought I failed. My sister whisked it with a tumeric seasoning and some soy sauce and threw a bunch of spinach that I was dreadfully cleaning because I bought 3 pounds for 3 dollars at a crazy grocery store... Wow! I didn't know this was a thing until my sister's husband started freaking out because he is traumatized by his mom's Indian cooking. It is the best way to eat lentils! It is really satisfying! It is harmonious with nature (I am vegan and use coconut oil). It actually feels spiritual knowing eveyone can eat without destroying the Earth. ❤❤ 😂

Hmm. My sister used Sabrah Masala. I tried recreating it with expired tumeric and it was bitter. I had to put a prepared mashed pktato with coconut oit, salt, and hot sauce to thicken it up but it still has a slight bitterness. Sorry. I am still learning. It is definately interesting.❤

I figured it out! I let 20 ounces of lentils soak for 1 hour then wrinse 5 times. I put wrinsed lentils in pressure cooker at 3 parts water to 1 part wrinsed lentils. While cooking I juliane 4 pounds of potatoes season with salt, coconut oil, and hot sauce while cooking on a medium flame for 17 minutes in a covered metal pot while stirring every 3 minutes. I mash the cooked lentil and potatoes while adding 15 servings of sambar masala and 2 heaping tea spoons of paprika powder. I put 5 servings of soy sauce. I mash until smoothe which is about 15 minutes. I refridgerate any/ all potato lentil mash. When I want to eat I make white rice in a rice cooker while frying up kale stems and leaves. I mix it all right before eating. Even Sager, my sister's husband who is traumatized by his mom's cooking liked it! It is made from all the food his mom left him! Anyway, I like how there is hardly any waste from packaging and it is the most inexpensive way to eat healthy. It seems like a sacred practice for saving the Earth! ❤❤❤ This is home economics!😊
