This game was bigger than the SNES, it was a type of game that went beyond most games that came out for the console. It was EXPANSIVE and strategical, you could do a lot! But the AI kindve sucked and made it too easy to win. The only challenge came from the later missions.

God I fuckin hate this dumbass mission. This was the first mission in the game that just made seriously debate if I even wanted to play it anymore. And I know the Armored Core series isn't generally "easy" per se (nor did I particularly want it to be), so as soon as I saw the title of this mission I had a bad feeling it would be some stupid bullshit like this. Thankfully the Laser Rifle does render most of the enemies a non-threat...........that is, if you can actually fuckin shoot them with it. The fact that every enemy you fight in this mission, save for the "boss" (if you can really call it that) are a bunch of dickhead planes that move way too quick to properly aim at, is just dogshit. At least to someone who isn't as familiar with the controls to skillfully time their jumps to bring their aim more in line with the assholes in the planes themselves, like the player in this video does. And I know I'm not the only one with this opinion. I've heard similar feedback about it from people who are far better acclimated to the Armored Core series than I am. And before anybody feels the need to point it out, I am aware of other stupid shit the game has the gull to pull out, like the "pink poison" mission with the hidden walls. Like, I do think this game is cool and pretty fun, but certain dogshit segments like this just effectively piss all over whatever good time you might be having with it. I know this was the inaugural entry in the franchise so a lot of the dumb shit within it, kind of served as a method to see what worked and what didn't for future releases, but this mission is fuckin garbage. Again, I kind of like the fact that the game is a decent challenge. It'd be disappointing if it were braindead easy, but I just personally loathe any of those "defend the idiot(s)" missions in ANY game. I hated it in Jak 2 for instance, and I hate it here.
