Any chance of a restore vid on these karate kid remco figures pls?
@VintageToyRushКүн бұрын
I would love to do a restoration vid for karate kid figures as they're often found with legs and arms that don't stay in position etc The problem is their body is bonded together and any attempt to open up just destroys them. One day I might investigate a way 👍
@ksmith697223 сағат бұрын
@@VintageToyRush thankyou for your speedy reply. I get the bonded body bit, but re-attaching legs, damage to soft rubber face, fabric jackets repair and overall paintwork are areas I know the toy restoring world would love some help. Of course I'm asking for "A Friend!" Love the videos keep up the great work.

500 stalls, but all i collect is 1/18 scale cars...can anyone tell me which toy fair in the u.k, has plenty of 1/18, no point me spending 3 hours going to birmingham just to see there isn't any.
@VintageToyRushКүн бұрын
I don't think there's any toy fair that has plenty of 1.18! You will find some but maybe you should ask the dealers / manufacturers of 1/18 where's best to get them?

Awesome video. Love how descriptive and detailed it is. This brought back so many memories that I had to dig my old toy out of storage and work on it to get that K.I.T.T. voice back. I think my record may be damaged. When the record plays it skips from 1 track to another on some phrases. Example: "Call me K.IT.T. tracking scope" haha. Any idea of how to mend that so it plays correct? What did you clean your record with?
@VintageToyRush2 күн бұрын
Hey David, thanks! 🤘 Glad to have brought back some memories. It's possible your record is scratched, although unlikely if it's mostly been in the car all that time. Inspect with a magnifying glass to see if there's damage. Otherwise, there may not be enough pressure on the needle to stop it jumping from one groove to another. You can adjust with the top screw... I think I cover that near the end of the video. Otherwise it could just be grime. Clean the needle and the record - I used vinyl record cleaner but you can use anything really... a wet wipe is fine. Good luck and let me know how you get on 👍
@davidstrider20072 күн бұрын
Dave, Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah i tried all of these things already. But i haven't used vinyl cleaner yet. I will give that a go. When i put the record under my microscope i can see some light scuffs. Maybe from the screw being too tight some times. Is there anything I can layer over the record to form a barrier for the scratches? Or do i have to find another record? Thanks again. Have a great weekend!

It's really remarkable that we now get something as adults that we would have wanted and loved as children. And it is precisely this thought that defines us as collectors. The memory of a wonderful childhood, which we always remember through the our toys. I like your videos! THANK YOU, Greetings from Germany!

Nice tour of the show and items discovered, Dave. Cool Robocop Motorcycle. With the more expensive show items, I wonder what the sales percentage might be for a lot of the sellers. I guess it depends on buyers at the show, and any bargaining of the final price. If they keep returning to the shows, they must be having some success. Thanks.
@VintageToyRush14 күн бұрын
Thanks!! 🤘 I've often wondered about sellers who return with the same items show after show. If I was a dealer I'd be wanting to shift stuff as quickly as possible. But I think some dealers are happy to actually keep the items in their collection for a while 🤣

Thanks for your new video on the restoration for Steve & Joe from @TimeTunnelToysUK of a Japanese 1970s Bullmark Tinplate Godzilla. Your channel can perform even better if you optimize your video titles, descriptions, and tags, which seem to be missing when you upload videos. @VintageToyRush24 күн бұрын
In this case, I simply used wet wipes for cleaning, and maybe a little lighter fluid for any stubborn marks (which I apply to the wet wipe). Now restoring sun faded plastic is tough - I can't give any specific advice but there are general plastic restorers out there for cars etc and possibly it could be recoloured (see Toy Polloi's video on Max Rebo) but I'm not sure if that'll work on the Hurricane plastic.
