This sequence was madness!!! What a production, oh, Lord!

In That's Entertainment Part 2, Gene Kelly narrates what goes on behind the scene when this number was filmed. The set was slowly taken apart as Ms. Powell dances while the camera follows in a smooth take.

Nowadays, mush-minded idiots would deride the sharpness, perfect timing, incredible energy and sheer excellence of this production as "white supremacy." Even the Nicholas Brothers were in awe. Enough with those who can't compete throwing shade on their superiors. Excellence can come in many colors - this one just happens to be white.

Did you know she was 2 months premature. At that time period it’s a miracle she survived. She had to deal premie related health issues her whole life. Yet she still became the best of all time. I know about premie issues my daughter was born 3 months early. This lady should have a monument

Wow!!! I'd never heard of Eleanor Powell until recently. What a stunning and talented woman. She reminds me of an ex girlfriend,,,the one that got way.

That performance was at two in the morning after multiple takes. Berkeley said she bruised and battered all over but SHE insisted on one more take. People try to say Miller was her equal or better, and sexier. EP did most of her own choreography. You do realize she hit most of the notes those men played on the piano. No one else did it that well. Nicholas bros said she was the best dancer period end of discussion of Miller was so good why was Ellie voted best tap dancer in. 1965!

She is incredible. And she looks so good doing it - such aplomb, such cool, her dance lines are so sophisticated.

I love old movies and I love tap dancing, and I just don't see the appeal of Elanor Powell. Whoever named her the best female dancer had never seen any other female dancers, clearly! She's just mediocre and not interesting at all to watch. Vera-Ellen and Ann Miller, however, are true wow. No one can look away when they're dancing!

@@rmcfete Was she, really? I never heard anything about her being unable to speak. I suppose she could be just moving her mouth while someone else speaks for her, since they did that often back then with singing anyway. Being unable to speak doesn't have anything to do with being a lousy dancer, though.

You have a lot to learn.

@@rmcfete So you're saying that ability to speak affects dancing ability? How? Explain it to me. HOW does having a speech-related disability affect one's dancing ability. Ah, it doesn't? Ah, you're just ableist and want to attack people who have no ability to speak? A random attack for no reason on a video and comment that have nothing to do with disabilities that prevent the ability to speak? Well, I'm done here. You're just an ableist troll wanting to throw around insults about people who have speech-related disabilities. So have fun talking to yourself about that.
