Far superior to spot welding, gives an extremely strong bond and also acts as a sealant to prevent moisture from getting back in between the two surfaces and starting rust all over again. Way back when they used spot welding because it's all they had, but this is a far better method.

Hey, I love your show. I have learned a lot of good info. from your videos.. One question!! How come u didn't use the Ultra Kleen strip on the sides of the van to remove the paint?? I have some stuff that I use on salt water boat trailers that is similar to Por 15..I was turned into it buy a guy that restored Mustangs for over 30 years..I use to live in Hawaii and alot of the Vws out there are coated with this to prevent rust. I have used it on my boat trailers and on my Empi Imp chassis.. I picked up a 74 Thing and a 69 Bay window both with lots of rust.. I will be using this product on both vws after all rust is repaired.. Thank you so much for the great videos.. I have turned a few friends onto it that have trailers and custom cars... If your interested it use to be on Ebay but now if I need any I have to contact the mustang guy to get it.. It's like $75 a qrt.. I'll send u his info if your interested.. Keep up with the great work on the bus cause I'm getting tons of good info for mine.. First time commenting so not sure if my name is in the system. It's Chris J. from Florida panhandle!!

Nice job, glad i found your channel since my bus is gonna need some serious panel restoration in the future. I’m new to bodywork but know my way around a welder at least. My question is when you weld a panel in do you butt/point weld only or do you weld a seam all the way around?

When you RIP the vent window, window scrapers inside and out in this manner you bend the sheet metal AND those little tab holes out of line. Bad when you go to install new

Always cover the paint stripper with plastic wrap. This reduces the smell and massively spoils the effect of the product.

Hey Vangabonders, Thank you for all the content. I only started watching the videos a few weeks ago because I also have a VW Bus 1978 (VW T2 b) and there is no comparable content on KZbin in Germany. Your stuff is great. Too bad there are no more videos coming at the moment. The work with the AirCraft Rust Remover is particularly brilliant, but you can't buy it in Germany. All the best and thank you for your helpful videos!

putting it on the roof shouldn't affect how well it works?? maybe i'm thinking wrong but it's a venturi / suction fed blaster, not gravity fed

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for this video I have probably watched the sliding door series 347 times. This got me through doing my own door track replacement. On to the rest of the bus! Thanks again!

You must cover the paint remover with a plastic otherwise most of the gaseous solvents will escape and reduce the performance, and do not expose the parts to the sun.

Panel weld was made for exactly what you used it for. I bet years from now it will still hold up. But if not, at least you had the innovation to try it.
