In his day, untouchable and obviously a legend. As a listener and follower to many modern sports and broadcast media, he was certainly up there with the best commentators and surpassed most with his pure passion. You can still hear him at the fantastic Transporter Bridge visitors centre, doing his thing as the official recorded tour guide, to explain, in his usual style, all things Teesside. Amazing ambassador, that will perhaps be impossible to replace!

I will never forget Ali brownlee, I loved listening to his Middlesbrough commentry as far back being 8 years old, he made it come alive. He lived and breathed MFC. His passion for the club was amazing. He was a very talented commentator. It is so sad he is no longer with us.
