I lived in Belize Central America from 1988 to 1991 and we used 2 meter radios for our telephone system out in the villages. I had it in my car. We opened it up and clipped a wire inside and expanded our channels. My channel was 133.835 best I can remember. Everyone was assigned a channel.

It's not like a CB radio you can snag from FB Market place for $25 or less although I bought a classic SSB radio about the size of a Cobra 19. The woman had no use for it. It's stock but I have a few mountains that are over 3000 feet above sea level and works great between Ch 36-38. $10 When I am not using that I run a Galaxy DX47 HP AM/FM with a Wilson 1000 mag mount.. Someone i know bought a Stryker 10M and asked me if i wanted it. I guess if I was in a bind i could sell it for $300 since it's set for 11M. BTW my SWR is sitting at 1.1-1 pretty much across the band. Have fun 73's

Recruiting and referrals are where the real money is in trucking. Millionaires have been made by youtubers going from one company to the next like butterflies to flowers and referring hundreds of drivers to follow them from company to company. 14 years in trucking, I have a grand total of three people who came to the company I was at and used my name on their application. It is very tempting to pivot one's focus to referrals because if one gets enough drivers yearly, they can make more from that than actually driving. The biggest hurdle now is that a lot companies are coming down with social media policies where they don't want the driver to talk about the company in any online capacity at all. To the company it is a huge PR liability to have truck drivers representing their billion dollar business.

Truckers who get a Ham Radio license will find that long drive less lonely. Once you identify as mobile HF a bunch of folks from all over the country will be more than happy to talk to you. I know of two truckers in my area who are hams and work mobile HF.

I remember in 99 started at j-mar for a whopping .28 a mile then after 90 days I was at .30 then 1yr mark I was at .32 and that's where I stayed for a lil bit, had big keyboard quailcom, no limter I believe my ride did like 98mph lmfao, super 10 transmission, California running sun of a gun, very few had phones but tge deal was a calling card and ya went in the phone booth at the flying j or petro had phones at the table but still needed calling cards lol, definitely everyone was on the CB, very enjoyable job at the time

THEY WOULD NOT REQUIRE AS MANY DRIVERS TO FILL THERE RANKS IF THEY ONLY PAID THEM AND TREATED THEM PROPERLY/OF COURSE THAT IS HOW THEY MADE THERE MILLIONS/ OF COURSE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT IS WORTH IT SALT IS WALMART,HOWEVER THEY USED TO BE DIFFICULT TO QUALIFY FOR AND OF COURSE MOST DRIVERS HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THAT/ AND I GUESS THAT HAS CHANGED SLIGHTLY /BUT THEY STILL HIRE DRIVERS THAT TAKE PRIDE IN TERE JOB
