I defeated him pretty easily. I guess the trick is to let him hit you If you stand still the damage is less as it is blocked and you gain shadow energy Be patient with your shadow powers, make sure you at least hit two of them. And also if you have him down, keep attacking Last note: don’t jump. I find sarge really good at disarming / knocking you to the ground if you use air moves
